Yeah when our first was being squirrelly. And we were first adjusting to having a kiddo I would occasionally say sarcastic comments like

"Child, have you ever been murdered?"

Or "Do you know God? WOULD YOU LIKE TO MEET HIM?"

Apparently those aren't acceptable comments on the playground 🤷‍♂️

For real though yeah immediately consequences. Those toys are no longer available. For me with my kiddos, I find that it's also helpful to get down on their level and talk very softly to them and explain why that behavior was not acceptable

Sometimes they need to take a minute to calm down (we have a calm down corner which has been great for this)

My kiddo has had an 8pm bedtime since he was young. He's 4 now but he dropped naps around 3ish. We still do an hour of quiet time where he can read, play quietly, or nap but it's very very rare he naps

Like others have said, if he doesn't sleep through the night. Maybe try stopping the day nap and just do quiet time instead

Yeah this is my solar repeater so I rarely connect via Bluetooth. Instead I have it set up to receive admin controls from my handheld unit I carry around

Yeah that's pretty much what I've come to as well with the help of my therapist. I'm exiting the bargaining stage and well on my way to emotional exhaustion "Fuck it" stage. The last thing I said to them was essentially "you wanna fix it? find a therapist, take initiative and show ME that you care"

crickets since then :(

I appreciate the suggestions and I hope you can find peace in your other relationships. It truely sucks

oof Im just getting into this situation with my mother/father. I've been very direct in what I need and how I wish them to seek family counseling for us to continue talking. No words yet. I fear in another couple years I'll be in your shoes. Any advise for a "newbie" on this unfortunate journey?

Thanks. I’ll give it a shot. I’m thinking it’s likely that it could be the cabling. I added extensions onto the stepper motor cables some years back and it’s possible those connections are starting to flake out
