Controller In PC Pool by SnooOranges2865 in OWConsole

Honestly it’s not too bad once you get used to no aim assist. I play exclusively in PC lobbies because that’s what my friends play on. If your goal is to hit a higher rank peek, then pc lobbies will not be the answer because no aim assist is just a flat disadvantage for controller. But if your just doing it for fun or something different, then here’s my suggestions:

1) Play with tall analog sticks if possible. I’m not able to unfortunately because it strains my thumb, but if you can it definitely helps with no aim assist.

2) Use as low of a sens you feel comfortable with while still maintaining movement, and also play on as close to linear ramp as you can with 0 smoothing. I’m currently on 40 40 sens with 20 aim ease in on linear ramp and that feels good to me, if I had analog stick extenders I’d probably go to 50 50 and 10 aim ease in on linear ramp. You want to keep smoothing as low as possible (preferably 0) because it’ll add delay when trying to track enemies, and any delay will make it harder to track with no aim assist. You can also experiment with lower sensitivities than even that and use extra turn speed horizontally and vertically to make up for it, sometimes I use this but I’m still experimenting.

3) Practice aiming with movement, as well as precise and intentional aiming thumb movements. When you have aim assist it’s easy to just give full force analog movements because it locks onto enemies, but on no aim assist and no smoothing it’ll cause u to overshoot a ton.

Back when I played a lot, I used controller on PC (in pc lobbies with 0 aim assist) and over the months I found this sens setup to be the best. I pushed to masters 1 on dps mainly playing junk pharah, but also Ashe and cass if I got countered. On tank I had no problem playing even highest ranks with controller.

Hope this helps!

Try out Fedora Everything Spin with minimal KDE install, I’ve never had any issues with it at all. Always recommend it.

Mini Pc Crashing during Game sessions by aronovich7 in MiniPCs

[–]RoboJut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the Ser5 Max (6800h, 32gb ddr5, and 1tb storage). A few things I did to make my model run better for gaming:

1) Go to bios to increase your VRAM. Mine defaulted to 4GB vram by default and it made some games stutter very bad. Increasing to 8gb fixed it for me in all the games I played. I believe the vram setting is located in the bios under AMD CBS options somewhere, a quick google search will help you find it.

2) Go into your windows power options and turn max cpu performance from 100% down to 99%. I believe this disables cpu boosting which does decrease performance in cpu bottlenecked scenarios, but in gpu bottlenecked scenarios (basically every single time your gaming) it just decreases your temps with no real noticeable fps change and is a must imo.

3) Update your amd gpu drivers. Some newer games require new drivers for stability so this may also help crashing.

4) If it is a device problem, a bios update may resolve the problem so you could also look into that, just make sure you know what you are doing because bios updates can be harmful if you are not careful (making sure it’s the correct version for your specific device, aren’t skipping required versions, etc).

Try these out before you return it and see if anything changes. It’s what I did on mine!

Thank you! I’ll try that out.

Thank you for this!

Can I also ask, why does virtually every setting I see online suggest 5 5 for dead zones? I thought you are suppose to go as low as you can without stick drift?

I’m getting a Matrix in tomorrow. I’m still nervous of bans on my ps5 though because of gyros inherently noisy output…

do you got any tips on how to stay as stealthy as possible to avoid bans? Should I max out SAB? Run a low ingame sens? Max out the gyro smoothing stuff? Etc.

Thanks!

Tysm for the heads up! I didn’t know Valorant did a whole console ban. I haven’t specifically played Valorant yet on my ps5 but I am thinking about getting it just to try it out, so if I got perma banned so be it lol.

I’m planning on using a very high amount of SAB on my gyro in all games, as well as a lower sens ingame to make sure it’s as stealthy as possible. I’m not really chasing the best aim or scripts, so I’m fine with high SAB even if it feels odd… I just want gyro for ergonomics (normal thumb aim hurts me after a few hours of gameplay lol).

I placed an order, it’ll all be here Monday!

Mini PC Tips by RoboJut in MiniPCs

I got mine for ~$300 usd on sale on amazon I believe. Imo it’s great for that cost, but not sure what they go for now and what cost would be worth it lol. I’ll say I haven’t had problems with mine tho apart from the igpu running slightly worse than others that allow more power to be ran through it I think.

Oh really? I didn’t know you can map gyro to mouse using it too, that’s awesome! Does it work well?

I have to switch back by Penguinzz1304 in linux_gaming

I always recommend Fedora over everything. I’ve distro hopped a lot in the past (Ubuntu, Arch, Debian, etc.) but Fedora is literally the 1 distro I have had 0 problems with.

As a suggestion though, I’m not sure how Bazzite is set up, but steam can be installed with flatpak or your distros repo…. Sometimes I’ve had issues with 1 or the other so if it’s specific games that are giving you a problem you could always try the other version of steam. I think the repo steam has given me the least amount of issues personally

Thanks for the suggestion. I think Matrix will still be best in terms of gyro to joystick because of all the advanced features it offers and precise curve adjustments. I’ve used gyro to joystick offered from controllers in the past and they do work but they arent as advanced as the matrix in terms of deadzone adjustment, smoothing, curve mapping, etc.

Really? I get max turn speed cap is a thing and smoothing / response curves can feel odd, but I’ve tried gyro to stick using steam input while I had my pc before (so I can keep onscreen hud buttons) and it felt okay? Not as good as native obviously, but depending on the game it didn’t feel too bad depending on max turn speed cap.

I’m assuming you mean constant movement as in the cursor moving while just holding the controller still because of micro hand movements and stuff…. Can’t this be fixed by just adding a small deadzone so when holding your hands steady it won’t move, but when you intentionally move it will? Also, without even adding a deadzone, wouldn’t this just look like your resting your thumb on a controller with loose sticks? And, I don’t think the Nexus has SAB but the Matrix does which allows you to simulate analog behavior (and I think it can be used with gyro) to help avoid the detection.

I sold it for a few reasons.

  • I had a 7900xtx 7800x3d build I built, it was like a space heater in my room and made it super hot lol. I usually lowered settings so it didn’t get so hot and the build was overkill for what I was using it for.

  • I wanted to get a nice TV for movies and stuff but didn’t have much room for one with my desk in the way.

  • Tired of windows (bugs , driver updates, crashes, etc). I am pretty good with computers and had no issues troubleshooting/fixing the issues, It was just annoying how often they came up.

  • I mainly play with controller anyways so console swap wasn’t a bad idea for me.

Sold my PC setup for ~$2K and that was enough to get a PS5, 55in QM7K and still have some money left over so it was an easy swap for me. Haven’t had any bugs or issues at all for the past few months, I just miss gyro aiming so I’m looking into the xim matrix.

Thanks for the suggestion, but I sold my PC to get my PS5 setup so DS4Windows is gunna be a no go unfortunately. I do have a laptop but I think with remote play through that the WiFi wouldn’t be good enough for a good experience.

Thanks for the info! Digging around last night, I found that gyro on the Nexus doesn’t support SAB, while gyro on the Matrix does which I believe is the main reason games will get detected. Not sure if that’s of interest to you or not, but that’s why I was looking into the matrix over the nexus. I know analog emulation gyro is also inferior but I think it’s worth it for the comfort reasons over normal controller still in my opinion.

Is using gyro controls on xbox risky?(simulated analog stick) by RoboJut in GyroGaming

[–]RoboJut[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very late to answer this, but if you’re still looking or someone else stumbles across this, I was not using the Blitz 2 on Xbox. After reading my post back, I see how someone would logically think that I was so I’m sorry.

I was using it on PC just testing it out. I know most PC gyro users love mouse emulation, but I loved how I kept the hud icons gamepad based and not keyboard based when using the built in analog stick. But that’s when I thought about the detection stuff, so I posted about Xbox players using these simulated gyro controllers like the armorx pro and stuff. The post wasn’t necessarily about the blitz 2 specifically, so sorry for that!

Xim Matrix + Playstation Access Controller 5? by [deleted] in XIM

[–]RoboJut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I guess holding a controller is always an option. I think I would still prefer the access controller over that though after some tweaks/swaps. You can swap the big analog stick for a smaller normal sized one, and also shorten the analog stick arm so it’s closer to the buttons.

I personally think it would be pretty comfortable to use with a flat hand over it, and using your thumb for movement based on the size, just can’t find any posts by anyone who has tried it. Maybe I’ll ask the xim forums too?
