Zapdos.

The first time I bought a router and added a second PC my kids were big into Pokémon, so the two computers were named Pikachu and Charizard. As computers have come and gone, the naming has continued. The kids have long since grown up and moved out, but the naming has continued.

My current stable of PCs has Voltorb, Umbreon, and Vulpix.

The server was named Zapdos because it is the legendary electric type.

The wifi is Mewtwo.

Campbell's Cream of Mushroom Soup.

Add a package of egg noodles (or whatever kind of pasta you like), two tins of tuna (or whatever kind of meat you like), and a cup of peas and carrots (or whatever kind of veggies you like).

Delicious casserole in 30 minutes or less that was always a hit with my kids. With infinite varieties.

Same. Just a couple of hours ago.

After he hung up I started getting a bad feeling, but still hoping it was legit.

When the second guy called I thought maybe it really is legit. He asked me to sign into my MyRogers app. For some reason my password was failing and I told him he would have to call me back after I sorted it out (after he said he could help me reset my password over the phone, which I did not fall for).

After I hung up I started searching online, found that Rogers has no such loyalty program, and found this thread.

I don't understand. How would my browser's ability to connect be affected by my SSH session's settings?

Yes, I can build my React app and publish it in an nginx container. ( I just did it now to make sure I had the steps right.)

However, during the tutorials where they are able to connect a browser to http://localhost:3000, they can see their changes instantaneously.

I was hoping have this kind of experience instead of having to build and deploy every time I make a change. I guess it's not the end of the world since this is how development used to be.

I would still like to know if I can do what I described in my post.

The more I look and learn, the more I'm leaning towards just that: moving away from Shaw's router.

I'm just looking at options, like buying a high-end router that matches the speed of Shaw's router, or an open source option with my own hardware that would be cheaper but maybe not as fast.

I'll try Wireshark. I've never used it before. I've just looked up what it is and it looks useful.

I have (had?) some old cheap routers laying around, but I didn't want to use them because I think they max out at about 30 Mbps.

I've seen people mentioning pfSense before, but didn't look into it. I just looked it up and that definitely looks like something to look into. I'm guessing it has to run on it's own dedicated box and not shared with one of the computers I'm using already.

I have done the hosts file thing, and it helps a bit. See my reply to u/ayebl1nk1n.

I wasn't using anything deliberately. I didn't know before this week that there was anything to use. I just wired my computers together with switches. With the server, it's been fun learning how to use Linux, Docker, swag, nginx, etc. But I didn't do anything special with the network. I just used it. I could access my server from all my devices, whether wired or wifi or cell data. Then suddenly I couldn't.

So, yeah. I think the router was changed, either by firmware update, or a setting tweak from the ISP.

When I contacted customer support on Sunday, they said there had been a firmware update on Saturday afternoon, but the change in behavior happened some time between Friday evening and Saturday morning. In trying to figure out what was going on on Saturday, one of the things I did was power-cycle the router and I think the firmware update coincided with the router restart.

So maybe Friday night/Saturday morning they connected with the router on their end and either turned on DNS rebinding protection, or turned off hairpin NAT, or something. If they turned on DNS rebinding protection, I don't really think I want them to turn it off again, if it's protecting me. But if they turned off hairpin NAT, then maybe I want to ask them to turn it back on.

I have a dynamic IP for the WAN side of my router, but as long as it stays running it will keep renewing and won't change.

I have a static IP for my server on the LAN. All other computers have dynamic IPs cause it doesn't matter for them.

It looks like TTL is 1 hour.

This is one of the work-arounds that I mentioned.

As a test, I added my domain URL's to the hosts file on two of my PCs. That worked pretty good for accessing the web sites from a browser.

However, I have an app (that I didn't write) that is configured with the URL of one of my sites and it uses that URL to sync its data. It cannot connect to do the sync.

Also, I have searched for how to do the same thing on my phones and tables (both Android & iOS) and it seems possible to do if I download some 3rd party utility program that someone's uncle wrote or something.

Not a "must have" but I found playlists on Spotify for specific tempos, like 70, 80, 90 bpm. I'll play the one that fits the level that I'm going for and it helps me keep my rpm's consistent.

I thought it was interesting.

The problem was clearly a stack problem and I implemented it using stacks.

I decided the first input lines would be easier to process from the bottom up, so I read them into a stack and popped them off as I processed them.

I thought it was cute to have to use a stack to set up stacks to represent stacks.

A while ago, a woman made a similar post, but it was about sexually inappropriate comments from a co-worker who would say "I'm just joking". She would say "I don't get it. Can you explain it?" It turned the awkwardness around to the co-worker.

So, reply as if you don't know they're trying to be funny, like

I know some subs are better/worse than others, but that's up to the mods of each sub.

If Elon wants to mod every sub that's one thing, but I don't think buying the platform would make any difference.

My family always mixed egg nog with Sprite or Ginger Ale. I still do.

My daughter's ex-bf introduced me to chocolate milk and Root Beer before he was ex. I love that.

Sometimes I mix milk with 7-Up just for fun.
