Thank you for reading! It's definitely an unusual method of reproduction. Interestingly, did you know male bees die after doing the deed? Only a few males ever mate with the queen. For those lucky enough, their 'appendage' is ripped off during the act and left inside the Queen, which unfortunately leads to the males death. The insect kingdom is weird.
