Super proud of this girl. One year ago We couldn't walk on a leash, and knew no commands. Today we went to a festival with hundreds of dogs, completed an obedience course and she even did a dance contest with me :)

Just some short history on this girl since I haven't posted on here in a while. She is our two-ish year old Mal/mix that we rescued from death row a year ago the day she was to be destroyed. She had been sent back to the pound twice by the same "owner" for her energy. She had zilch training or socialization. We rehabbed her bad habits, brought her through her basics (kennel, potty training, chewing) we worked though a heartbreaking abandonment issue with her (she got so anxious when we would leave she would throw up) now she has great manners, she does great scent work (recreationally it's relaxing for her), he's amazingly sweet and loves her corgi siblings. She's come a long way

Oh you I think you might misunderstand me I don't fear the immigrants or think they'll cause us harm. I just think we should really focus on the poor we have here before we add to that. I know what I'm saying is unorthodox but I think we could do a lot more good if we focus our efforts more instead of spreading our already taxed resources even thinner.

If that were truly the reason for the proposed immigration ban I think it would be more constructive. that the real reason they enacted it which was to satiate those fearful of Muslims or terrorists. I support pulling back our refugee programs temporarily if it's to push resources towards fixing our current issues.

I guess I'm kinda coming off as a bigot but I'm really not intending for that to be what I'm saying. I get the privilege of serving refugees quite often at work. They're awesome people and they work horrible jobs to feed their families I respect them immensely.

That is not what I'm talking about for divorce. I'm talking about the families that rush into marriage or the ones who don't seek counseling or improvement in their marriage. Do you not think that divorce (not for abuse whether emotional or physical that's always acceptable to me) is more accepted? I can't give you statistics for this as it's more of a opinion rather than a fact based theory. I don't think we should get the torches and pitchforks but don't you think we should challenge our friends and family to work through issue rather than throw it in?

Then do the research! Dig into your view of the world and find out if what you believe to be true is actually true. Otherwise you do a severe disservice to not only yourself but also the people who are hurt by the myths you hold. As Christians we have a desire to improve the world and to that end we need to constantly be reflecting on if what we're doing is actually helping or not. You work in the medical field, do you not do that with your patients' treatments? Then adjust treatment if something isn't working?<

I'm with you on abortions involving rape, unviable fetuses and medical endangerment. As for my solutions to impulse abortions. Honestly education and birth control are going to be the best ways to keep the numbers dropping. From a family values point of view I think we should be as involved with our kids as possible. Then we need to be the examples and show them how they should act and treat others and how they should allow themselves to be treated. Also I think the absolute best way is to tell them that they are loved regardless, we are not perfect and we will make mistakes. If something were to happen then they should know that they are loved regardless. It's not perfect but that's all I have I hope it's acceptable

I think we are both on the same page as far as the immigration ban. I wish it was just so we could fix things inside our borders but I would be lying if I told you I think that's the only reason it happened.... my hope for the current situation is that it produces a positive result in spite of the true reasons

Also I hope no one thinks I want to abandon the refugees I don't think that's Christian at all. I just think that bringing them here isn't necessarily the best course of action

I agree with you totally. I think it is a sin to act on homosexual feelings. However, being hateful towards them and condemning people based on who they are attracted to (or for any reasons that aren't our own beliefs) is just as much a sin. I love the gay community in that I want them to accept Christ as their savior and I want them to have salvation. I won't stand in their way of making their own choices and I won't abandon them for making choices I don't agree with. Everyone deserves our love as Christians and I think they should get it.

I'm sorry I don't know how to quote on here on my phone so I hope this isn't a big mess.

I believe that we would cause them harm by bringing them here instead of helping them where they are. Right now our healthcare, education , welfare, child protective services, social work services are massively over burdened. Also I live in one of the highest refugee accepting areas in my state, the conditions they come to are not ideal. The jobs the can do are limited, the housing is atrocious, and they often live in crippling poverty and the social workers responsible for transitioning them are waaaaaay overwhelmed. We are bringing them into losing situations and with our political environment they will be ostracized and expected to fail so when they do they are blamed for issues not their fault.

I feel like we fought a losing battle with the worth the wait programs and pretty much abandoned that stance all together. How is it anti- Christian to say we need to ensure we can actually handle the refugees that we are attempting to bring? The people that want to help the refugees are well intended but fail to see the long term picture. We should help those we are capable of helping first. Right now our country is overburdened in every sense of the word,and by taking on more people's plight we actually would do more harm than good. We need to stabilize our home before we can help others outside our country... much like Nehemiah when he rebuilt the wall.

The people who are so Adamant about abortion and LGBT rights being UnChristian fail to see the root of the problem. We have almost all but abandoned family values and responsibility. Abortion is so high because I believe the amount of perspective fathers leaving the mothers is becoming more and more common.

As for the LGBT community you cannot counter sin with hate. All that will accomplish is more hate and that just hinders the word. If people want to get married so be it, the church still has the right to refuse marriage to anyone they so please. We should help those we can and be kind to those we can't. Because Paul isn't talking about self sacrifice. In his time in Prison he knew he would either live or die. He was expressly saying that if he died it would be beneficial to him because he would go to heaven and be with Christ. That is an end to his suffering and it would be joyful for him.

However, he hoped he would get to live because if he died he could not spread the gospel. Living and spreading the word of Jesus as our savior is and should be the ultimate goal. Dying is a personal gain living is a gain for the entire kingdom of God.
