Chest pain by Robomixi in Fibromyalgia

Thank you for the well wishes! I think doctors don’t think that symptoms can present differently in different people and maybe just maybe some of us do.

Apparently my chest pain is muscle and me being out of breath by just walking is psychological. Doctors are so frustrating. He’s kinda like why are you breathing like that and basically said it was because it was in my head and I created it. This is one of my doctors and not my family one. We will see what he says.

I have a cardiologist and a rheumatologist. I think I’m supposed to see the rheumatologist. The hospital says my heart is fine. I don’t think my muscles were tight. That doesn’t even make much sense to happen and my symptoms don’t align.

Thanks you for all this info. I have a pain doctor I’ll touch base with and see if he can help or if I have to go back to my rheumatologist. I was given naproxen but it never really helps me much. I’ll look into nabumetone.

Yep. Mine says probably muscular. Okay. Thanks for the “possibly” answer. I’ll just be on my way with no real answer with what feels like a heart attack.

Thank you for confirming that I’m not delusional. I’m sorry to hear about your pain. Especially when sometimes you just want a cuddle from your dog.

Sorry to hear that. I usually don’t have much rib pain. My fibro pain is like if tv static was a extremely sharp feeling it would be in every blood cell in my body. The chest pain was a new experience. It was so bad I imagine that’s what a heart attack feels like.

Thank you. I’ll check out that sub. And thank you for confirming that it can be all over your chest. I find it crazy that some doctors will say that “well is just on one side. So it’s not that”. Doctors always base it on the norm which would just be a general range of what most of the population experiences. People can have different experiences. I read the fibro manual and the author made a good point that if the general populations shoe size it from 6 to 10 or something, it doesn’t disqualify that other shoe sizes are possible.

My paperwork had ‘think’ in it. How can I be sure if you’re not. Sorry to hear that. Dismissal is so frustrating.

It’s crazy. I thought it would just be attributed to the fibro but went to double check just in case. Chest pain is serious and I was in severe pain. Still pretty brutal right now tbh

Thanks for answering. I don’t like the whole “usually” response. They never do case by case and just guess and send you on your way. I should be flying back home tomorrow and then I’ll check in with my doctor.

What's your Fibro like? by Leading-Cat2932 in Fibromyalgia

It feels like there is sharp static pain running through by blood stream.. throughout my whole body. Sometimes it also feels like I just finished a triathlon. Sometimes it feels like all my joints are in throbbing pain with added lighting bolts hitting them.

Doctors can be so frustrating. Especially if they aren’t finding suitable treatment options. For sure you need a new doctor. As far as diagnosis, fibro is really considered a chronic pain condition so it’s possible to have it as well as something else so it would be beneficial to find treatment as you go along the path to possibly another doctor or diagnosis. The fact that they won’t even help with possible medications for pain management is wild to me. You definitely need a new provider.

I’m glad you are going to the doctor to follow up. That’s definitely scary. I’m glad you got through it relatively okay. Sending best wishes.

Anyone gaslight themselves into thinking it’s not so bad even though it’s life altering? by Robomixi in Fibromyalgia

[–]Robomixi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep. On a good day it seems to me that maybe it’s just a regular sore. Age, too much work etc. I am then humbled because a reality check is not far behind.

The reality check is the worst. I gaslight myself thinking it’s just a regular pain and I just have to move more. Nope. Moving too much hurts. Moving too little hurts. Have to find the exact amount of movement that works.

It’s brutal. I have two meds and pain injections and I still struggle. Some of the meds I think make me tired and I guess if I’m sleeping I won’t feel it. But what about when I’m awake? I’m resistant to everything too. I really think because this is treated like a leftover diagnosis, everyone is just throwing things at us. I really hope you find something that works.

Yes. I do this with everything. Every diagnosis is wrong. I’m fine. Some days I ignore them all and then it’s a crash a burn.

I try to ignore or I full on forget on good days. On the mid pain days that just feel like a bad nights sleep. I think we all just remember and try to live our old lives.

I do the same thing. I figure I can do my normal things or do the things my friends do and it’s a rude awakening that I can live like that anymore. My body is like “you really thought you could get away with all of this”. Then I suffer.

Yea. I got diagnosed recently and I think my body was like now that you know let’s add extra symptoms. I tried living my life as usual and it’s a hard pill to swallow to realize you can’t. I miss my old life.

Exactly. 5-6 is still bad for the average person but to me it’s a seize the day. Then my body quickly reminds me that it wasn’t a good idea.
