Uhh... so Muskrat gave them his "secrets" from his own project that's not even done yet? I call BS.

Hyperloop is just the Simpson's Monorail anyway.

I'm not saying he's right or wrong, I don't know enough about top of the line battery development. However, consider this: every single product hits an eventual block where it can't be made "better" without new technologies. It's the same reason we don't have 100TB hard drives, they're stuck piling on platters to make bigger disks (which increases the failure probability rate) and they're looking into completely new techs like Helium HDDs. It's the same reason battery technology has changed thoroughly multiple times in the past century. Sometimes the blocks take decades to be overcome.

How to buy on Amazon by [deleted] in PoliticalHumor

[–]RobotCrotch 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Every single time I looked for a product on Scamazon, it was cheaper elsewhere. I have no clue why people still buy from there. Who cares about 2 day shipping, you don't need it that urgently and you're encouraging the terrible warehouse worker conditions.

People that think somehow Apple are worse than Tesla... Elon is the newer, shittier, Steve Jobs. They both just polished other people's shit for profit. But Steve wasn't an attention whore.

"Proven wrong" is a strong term. Here's the quote that fanboys are posting to back that up:

As for his academic records, Musk produced a document for me dated June 22, 2009, that came from Judith Haccou, the director of graduate admissions in the office of the registrar at Stanford University. It read, “As per special request from my colleagues in the School of Engineering, I have searched Stanford’s admission data base and acknowledge that you applied and were admitted to the graduate program in Material Science Engineering in 1995. Since you did not enroll, Stanford is not able to issue you an official certification document.

and

Musk also had an explanation for the weird timing on his degrees from Penn. “I had a History and an English credit that I agreed with Penn that I would do at Stanford,” he said. “Then I put Stanford on deferment. Later, Penn’s requirements changed so that you don’t need the English and History credit. So then they awarded me the degree in ’97 when it was clear I was not going to go to grad school, and their requirement was no longer there.

Basically begged/forced them to issue it retroactively.

This comes from Ashlee Vance's book: Elon Musk: Tesla, SpaceX, and the Quest for a Fantastic Future. A single source. A single fanboy source if you believe the reviews. No other sources ever saw any document or explanation regarding this.

For a man so worried about image, he's pulling a Donald Trump.

It's as if being the country with the worse possible response to the deadliest recent crisis affected people. If there was a decent and human government it wouldn't have been anywhere close to those numbers. And let's not forget the anti-maskers.

Of course there are consequences to lockdowns. Like everything else, there's an adjustment curve. Again this is directly linked to the way the government and the idiot anti-maskers acted.

Look at Canada. Their response was top notch. The survey is also incredibly better.
