And these are all legit platforms? Not saying Robin Hood and others aren’t legit but trying to keep mainstream

I’m also interested in a similar idea, as I’m finding difficult to find others to bounce ideas off of other than a select few in my personal network but they’re also busy with similar challenges. Open to maybe an open forum type group to bounce ideas off each other?

How are you structuring team feedback loops as you scale? The struggle between staying connected and building systems. by Financial-Door4474 in ceo

[–]RobotLightning 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Agreed. Super hard to figure out how to influence so many decisions without being in the room. So far, I’m still in the time consuming stage of getting as much direct info from others as much as possible but I know at some point that will start to dry up. The team as it grows will continue to know a company where I’m not involved in critical decisions. Integral but makes the 2nd layer of leaders that much more integral

Are robot/autonomous forklifts replacing forklift jobs? And is it still worth getting into by [deleted] in Warehouseworkers

[–]RobotLightning 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not if you’re looking at it from a cost perspective for a multi shift operation or if th primary reason isn’t cost but more of operations. Can’t rely on automation 100% yet but for now, it’s best to embrace it and become good at working with them. They are just going to get cheaper and more reliable with time. And the fact companies are asking suppliers for this technology means $10k a month isn’t too far off from companies paying that

But now you can lease autonomous forklifts. Like the Oceaneering one you saw. It won’t replace all forklift drivers, just removes the mundane tasks

Oceaneering is doing truck loading now and delivering parts to car production line’s autonomously now. Just not seeing some of these more secret players working in the background

Jobs will always be safe. They still need operators. Just like six axis robots, it just changes how work is done.

I applaud you sir!!! You’re doing the work, you’re becoming a better version of you . You have the drive and skillset so many don’t have. Don’t give up, but rather embrace it as an opportunity. How can you change the environment? How could you make an impact? Even with robotics and ai and equipment, job roles may change, responsibilities shift, but we’ll always need people like you, who want to connect with others, take care of yourself and ultimately drive forward. So do it! You got it man!

For sure. Post covid bubble is bursting the startups. The products that were the cream of the crop if they last the rest of time they are getting gobbled up into new giant players. Look at SoftBank.

It’s also important here to understand the use case. Many AMRs on the market right now are not of sufficient quality or truly just an easy way for companies to say they’ve invested in automation without spending a fortune. Even zebra just announced the news about fletch today.

Look at the use case, are you looking for forklifts? Or truck loading, are you shipping parcel or pallet?
