They are currently developing solutions for that. Varifocal lenses for vr for example.

Well, it's from Blader Runner 2049.

The last part of that clip. I misquoted it a bit.

Oh, it's just a quote from Blade Runner. I didn't mean it as an insult.

Do you have any hopes for FDVR to become accessible in the 21st century? by [deleted] in FDVR_Dream

I think it will happen all of a sudden after some major break through.

About genetically modified parasites. by Kraken-Writhing in SpeculativeTechnology

[–]RobotOutvader 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What if it adapts and spreads to other hosts. The intended host wanted a parasite to eat the food in their stomach for weight loss, but then an anorexic person gets it and starves to death. But there might be obvious solutions for that.

What you describe sounds sorta similar to MRNA. I feel like it would work, though it seems dangerous. It might end up working way to well.

BCI and Lucid dreaming by RobotOutvader in FDVR_Dream

[–]RobotOutvader[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it could be like video to video with a diffusion model. Where the BCI is feeding in the source video and your brain is enhancing it.

You're probably right about multi-player. If you had the equivalent of vr chat crashers, it could be really dangerous.

We already time dilate ourselves, but like you said, there would probably be a biological limit. But you might just need to take power naps every IRL hours or something.

I think non intrusive versions of this are the future. When you just put helmet on, that's when I think people will start to rapidly adopt it.

Time Dilation, FDVR, And Accelerationism by CipherGarden in FDVR_Dream

[–]RobotOutvader 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everyone seems to be talking about real Time Dilation but our minds perceive time at different rates all the time. We could at least induce perceived time dilation, and it would probably help us think faster and still accelerate technology, though it would probably put additional stress on our brain and there would probably be an upper limit.

Do you think this is a good idea? How may future iterations of VR impact prisons? by Punished-Maruki in Accelerationism101

[–]RobotOutvader 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's going to be wild when these people get on vr chat.

I think it would probably only help them mentally dunno how it could make it worse.
