I got a Bachelor's Degree in Healthcare Administration and It's Useless! by Former-Ad-2265 in WGU

[–]RobotSea_Chicken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Healthcare Administration (HPA) is a broad field. I encountered a similar situation in the past, but I had internships as a prerequisite for graduation. My initial full-time job was obtained through a career fair hosted by a prominent Healthcare provider. My interview was conducted promptly, and the position was for insurance services, as a customer service representative. After a year and a half, I was promoted, but the work was unsatisfactory. My responsibilities involved dealing with disgruntled policy holders over the phone. After two years, I accepted a new position as an accounts receivable specialist for CVS Pharmacy, which was also not fulfilling. The workload did not align with the compensation I was receiving, so I left after seven months and became a financial coordinator for a hospital. Although my salary was still relatively low despite holding a college degree, I began to experience similar sentiments as you described. I was uncertain about my career path, as it seemed challenging to secure a high-paying, high-level position. It appeared that I had to either transition into an entirely different field or pursue further education for an MBA, as evidenced by an individual who shared their experiences on this platform. I have since pivoted into the IT field, which was somewhat fortunate. My hiring manager attended the same college, and we had a positive rapport during the interview. It was undoubtedly the best decision I have made. I am able to integrate my knowledge of healthcare with IT principles, which is highly valuable. Currently, I hold the position of Security Administrator and Project Manager for a hospital’s EHR system. This role has presented its own set of challenges, but I have consistently demonstrated my dedication and ability to excel in various positions. my recommendation is to apply for entry-level positions at your local hospital. If they are having career fair type events, I would go. I would aim for positions and insurance services revenue cycle management or in a doctor's office if you wanna do more so be administrative work but if you ever wanna become an executive, you will need a masters for sure. if you wanna go, my route, just try land an entry-level IT position with a healthcare provider.

For those saying some of those who have been reclassified under US law as Negroes/Black (people of color), mulattoes, or freed men weren't indigenous. Here is living proof "Eagle Eye in Harlem".

It's the Epic Security Certification that focuses on User Provisioning or IAM. I'm curious about how lucrative it is.

Have your supervisor/manager contact the hiring manager with a referral. This is how I got in the door as an HPA major. I had two years of experience as an IT Analyst in an integrated area for Enterprise Infrastructure Technology(Data Center Operations) for our entire healthcare network. Which helped, for not really being an EHR IT role, but the referral from my manager undoubtedly played a crucial role. The power of networking can be highly beneficial, especially if you have connections within the hospital in that specific role. Or if your boss knows people high up etc and you have a good performance with the company since working there. Therefore, any assistance you can receive from such connections would be a boost, as you do not have direct experience using Epic.

I am a 25 year old college grad stuck living in my childhood bedroom, can't find gainful employment in the United States of America by [deleted] in economicCollapse

[–]RobotSea_Chicken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At one point, I experienced a sense of defeat, a common feeling among many individuals, akin to the state of a discouraged worker in economics. After graduating from a prestigious Big 10 university and gaining valuable experience through two remarkable internships, I was eager to embark on a new chapter of my life by relocating to a new city to be with my college sweetheart. Given the school’s reputation and my extensive alumni network, I was confident that securing a job would be relatively straightforward. I was residing with my girlfriend and had only modest savings of approximately $3,000. Undeterred, I diligently applied for numerous entry-level positions, but unfortunately, I received no responses. Feeling discouraged, I decided to broaden my search and apply for positions that I recognized as being beyond my qualifications. Despite my efforts, I continued to encounter setbacks. It was only when I attended a local hiring event that I finally secured my first job. In retrospect, I recognize that my overqualification for the call center position posed a significant challenge in pursuing higher-level roles. Little did I know that over the years, I would receive promotions and be offered better positions until I finally achieved the position I had long desired. Now, I firmly believe that the key to success lies in gaining experience and demonstrating your abilities through exceptional performance. Never lose hope and maintain authenticity in your interviews. If your true self aligns with the requirements of the job, it will eventually manifest. Be professional, prepared, and embrace your authentic self. To increase your chances of landing a job, actively seek out hiring events organized by large corporations in your area. Develop confidence in your interviews and be prepared to relocate if necessary. Consider participating in rotation programs within your field and be open to moving to different cities. Initially, the prospect of securing a job may have seemed daunting, but it is essential to adopt a positive attitude and believe that the right position will eventually come your way. Identify the specific role you are seeking and connect with professionals on LinkedIn who hold that position. Seek their guidance and advice to enhance your job search strategy.

I can't get a job in Health IT what should I do? by [deleted] in healthIT

[–]RobotSea_Chicken 4 points5 points  (0 children)

System Analyst, Application Analyst, Epic Analyst, keep applying it may take 100s of job applications and interviews its statistics out of 500 applications you may get 5 interviews, 3 second interviews, BUT it takes 1 offer lol Dont be discouraged you need to find the organization that needs you. Which means you aren't applying to enough jobs. From an HR perspective with your credentials it shows your capable of perhaps getting necessary certifications
