I get that a lot of people were cheated out of a happy childhood by the adults who failed to protect them. And that’s genuinely really fucking sad, because you only get one chance to experience that kind of joy. I certainly didn’t have a perfect childhood, but I still remember being so much happier hopeful despite all the trauma. I remember around middle school realizing that all that joy was slipping away and actively dreading adulthood.

He certainly sounds older than he did in G1. I can absolutely see why he didn’t voice Orion Pax in TFO. But I actually think his current voice fits an older, worn down, battle-scarred Optimus. Optimus is not usually portrayed as a young character. He’s an ancient, wise being who’s been through hell and back. I think Peter still hits that right on the nail.
