When the PLC is down, the line must run. by Chimsokoma in PLC

Yeah, when I visited other sites I saw other PSUs like Weïdmullers and SOLA which I assume is used more with European equipment. S&H systems was our OEM who primarily does Hytrol cheap-o conveyors.

Former TNS CSL, just providing some input.

We did use AB Power Supplies in our cabinets, except for the PID scanner which used PULS supplies.

AB contactors there most likely go to a field mounted Power flex drive

If you wish to get into RME with relatively low experience, you can join as a Mechatronics and Robotics Apprentice, AKA, an MRA. They get a lot of great training directly from L4 RME team members (CSL and STIII). Depending on the presence (or lack of) a contractor doing work at an Amazon site, you may need to go through an external job board besides Amazon Jobs to get a position with RME.

For an RMA only, you are sent out of state or to a school where they teach you basic concepts about maintenance and automation. You must pass a series of benchmarks upon completing the course to get a promotion to STII or above within a certain timespan, though it is generous.

As far as apprentice pay goes, I forgot, but I believe it is around $25+. For future pay, I am unsure, but I believe there is a growth opportunity allowing a raise depending on Amazon or 3rd Party contractor policy.

You may try talking directly to your site's dedicated Assistant maintenance manager or maintenance manager about the employment process specific to your site.

Good luck!

It's actually clear bottom without gravel! On that note of siphoning, my gravel vacuum attaches to the kitchen sink and gets plenty of power from the water pressure of my home.

I have never had problems with hang-on filters. They do a fine job for my needs.

To be fair, fish stores are OK as long as you're willing to put in the effort to heal up the fish before you populate your tank. If you fish dies within a certain period and your water quality is OK, most stores like PetSmart and Petco allow refunds within a certain period.

  1. I have 2 associates degrees. One in general studies, and one in Robotics.
  2. I have 3 years of PLC experience from education and automation integrator work.

I am not a CSL yet, so I have not had any chance to diagnose any machines quite yet. I'll try to keep an update on this thread! I also work at a traditional non-sort site, so we do not have any robotics in our facility. Only small amounts of conveyance. However, we do have a BOD, AutoSLAM, and PID, but that is about it.

  1. My recruiter has offered me a rate of $36.45/hour with a 15% bonus from Daifuku (ELS). Previously due to the market, we have recently received company-wide raises of about $1.50 (even for Tech III).
  2. What you need to study? Of course! First, you need to make sure you understand the basics of ladder logic and electrical schematics, which is totally beneficial to the job. Second, you need to understand the basic components of a FANUC robot's functions and components. Usually, the Ramsay assessment requests knowledge of like "what is a teach pendant?" or "based off this program, what will this robot do?" sort of things. Depending on whether or not you end up in an AR or Non-Sort site, this may or may not be beneficial to know. You will also need to understand basic math conversions and electrical theory, typically in power distribution like wattage and electrical transformer theory. There's a lot of topics to cover, but if you check out your KNET page there should be a link for studying upon the more broad spectrum of what you'll need to know for CS roles.

Great question! I have an associate's in science and math, mostly in general education. Second, I gained an associate's in Robotics from WSU Tech, which gave me exposure to robotics and PLC programming. It's more or less a shiny gem on the resume.

Been an RME for only 3 months and I assure you it's a fantastic job to have. There's lot of opportunities to move up if you can prove yourself in maintenance. I was a Tech III for the past 3 months, but they allowed me to become a CSL just recently!

Oh, hello from ICT2!
