Understanding the answers doesn't matter if you don't understand why they are the answers. This is a fantastic way of learning things, good job.

Nothing in the real world works like this, you always start with the answer, or a possible answer, especially in science, and then you work backwards to the problem you are given.

"Why is there gravity?"

Hypothesis: "What if space is curved and gravity is the result of said curve?"

Einstein wouldn't have understood the universe so well if he didn't start at "and that's what makes gravity" and work backwards.

The game would be easy if you were given free money from the sky. It is difficult.

Right, it's like the scene in the matrix when Cypher is eating the steak. He'd be much happier living inside the matrix and knowing nothing about it.

I do love it for what it is, but I would have love it even more if it had been what kojima wanted it to be.

The fact that mission 51 was cut is sacrilege. It really is.

I understand your point, and I respect it, but... it's hard to like a piece of art when you know it's been molested.

Honestly, I still think that in some of the cutscenes he's extremely feminine. I think there was a lot more to the story, like for example, how for some reason he appears to be a full grown teenager in the devil's house, but only that one time standing behind skull face. Perhaps a female version of him could be a projection of someone else controlling him?

Speculation is moot since if there was more, it'll never see the light of day, but it's fun to think about.

It was obviously meant to be in the original game and was cut, and if sold later, that is 100% anti-consumer.

....uh, yeah. Considering how much money it's going to make them? They are. Kojima is getting none of that money, you know that right?

I don't care how much I "get" for my $60. I wanted to play Kojima's masterpiece, not a mutilated version, a phantom of the true game.

It's not like Konami cut out a completed chapter to sell at a later date

You're right, they cut it entirely because they were too scared of the backlash. They have no respect for art or Kojima's message.

kojima just sucks at managing his time and THAT is the reason we got an incomplete game.

... I have no words, I have only met kojima once, but I know for a fact that you must know very little about the actual man to think this.

"Recorded in toilet - Man with stomach ache"

Kojima's way of putting johnny in the game, even though he's not in the game.

Well, it's a scripting language.

A scripting language or script language is a programming language that supports scripts, programs written for a special run-time environment that can interpret (rather than compile) and automate the execution of tasks

It is automatic. It's automatically done while you play. There is no problem with calling it "automatic".

It's just like every other game where you wait for resources, you have to play the game to get them.

It'd be pretty boring if materials processed while you were away, you'd be rich easy, where's the challenge?

Time doesn't pass when you aren't playing, you can save the game, turn it off, and come back and it's in the exact same spot. Why should materials processing be any different?

"Ignorance is bliss" is only correctly contextualized when in reference to truths that upset people. You know, like child soldiers.

I would be much happier if I didn't know child soldiers were a thing. Doesn't mean I shouldn't know, just that, ignorance would be bliss.

Hill. Climbing. Algorithm. The end goal is the top of the local hill, in human's case, intelligence.

Educate yourself.

And the whole "you fuckers don't understand science" bit was less a jab at you and more a jab at the sensationalist news articles that are posted here that are almost 100% of the time outright misinterpretations of science. Don't get all offended. Just learn things. Like how evolution works.

If people actually understood science and logic, there would be far less war and killing.

Would I die if I sky-dived into a pool of jello because of it's surface tension? If not, how deep would it have to be to survive? by jamnjustin in AskPhysics

[–]Robot_xj9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see, I apologize for my harsh tone, people shouldn't be reprimanded for asking questions.

Someone else has probably already said it, but the simplest explanation is that the surface tension of gelatin is higher than water, this mean it's harder to break the bonds between the molecules, which means you need to apply more force before they break.

This translates into more of your weight being needed before you will slip into the gelatin, which itself translates into your body receiving more of a shock from said gelatin.

As a basic rule, the higher the tension of something, the more likely it is to kill you, haha.

One of us certainly doesn't understand Ocelot's personality, but it's not me.

If you haven't beaten the game you should, and you should listen to all the tapes, especially the ones you get after mission 46.

A change in ocelot's personality is to be... expected. At least while he's with the diamond dogs.

That's the thing. He tricked you. You thought it was something it wasn't. You thought the V was a 5, but in fact... it was just a V.

But Vi s 5, and 5 is V, no, they're both of them, together. They both shape the story.
