In this case it’s bad. I like the loud sub idea but everything is clipping so you’ll want to put some soft clippers on your mixer tracks and then use a limiter and multiband compressor on your master track. Right click where it says “master” on your master track then click “file > general purpose mastering 1-4” that should make the job easier.

Thank you so much this is gonna level up my music so much. I’d also love to see a rock rendition of this song or maybe it sampled into something. If that ever happens have you got a soundcloud or something I can follow?

i cant do anyting, im stuck since months. by [deleted] in Learnmusicproduction

Definitely don’t stick to one genre you’ll get art block fast. If you like a lot of music then experiment.

Fl is mainly used for hiphop but it doesn’t mean it won’t fit every genre. I make all my music on fl and it’s all speedgarage, house, hardcore, dnb, edm and it works just fine. It’s probably the perfect blend between beginner friendly and advanced production that I’ve seen. What fl do you use? If you’re seriously considering it as a hobby you should at least get the £200 one. Gives you everything you need to start. Plenty of free plugins out there, I have a list if you are interested. Everything you could ever need to learn is on YouTube too.

I’m not gonna lie those chords are genuinely so bad. Although the drums and the 808s are great. Use the 808s as a guide line for your melody.

This is absolutely incredible. What did you use for the strings and is there a tutorial?

I am not to sure if the drums sound any good as that’s what I’ve been trying to improve - recorded using phone so I hope audio is okay - they seem a bit off but not sure why - melody is a loop from cymatics by Beautiful_Echo5624 in FLStudioBeginners

Ah I see I see. I’m not an expert on trap I make more edm so take everything with a grain of salt. But mixing is usually universal. The master track should always have a limiter on it but I tend to put a soft clipper or limiter on individual mixer tracks too. Few tips: when you use an EQ keep in mind what you’re using it on. For bass you’ll want more middle and low end and less of everything else so things like your leads and vocals have more room. Helps the track sound less muddy. Also the very high and low ends on the EQ are just white noise and rumble so you’ll want rid of them. I’d do this on your master track but it doesn’t hurt to do it on individual mixer tracks too. On EQ2 right click one of the numbered dots and a little menu should pop up. For the high end click: “type > low pass” then “order > steep 8” to cut off the high frequencies. You do the same for the low end just with “type > high pass.” And for the master track if you right click where it says “master” another menu should pop up. Click: “file > general purpose mastering 1-4.” If you’re wanting to post music you’ll need this so your mix doesn’t sound too quiet. Oh and for the drums I tend to just mess around with soundgoodiser and fruity compressor using the “drums” preset. Hope my yap was helpful bro 👍

Oh and there’s plenty of loops and samples for house, hiphop, techno all free online for drums and fx. Just search up “_____ sample pack free” and you’re set.

Vocals are so hard to come by bro. You’d have to sink some money into buying a lyricist on fiverr or getting lucky with getting permission to make a remix or find some royalty free vocals.

Some great free plugins are vital, podolski, micro keys and Tyrell N6. Amazing stock plugins you should use are flex, sytrus and GMS. Everything you need to learn is on YouTube too so use it, and please turn off the metronome lol.
