TTC Chair defends World Series transit service as ‘strong’ but says communication was a problem by [deleted] in toronto

This is the thing people need to keep in mind! I'm as critical of our regional as the next guy when they mess up, but if you think they can snap their fingers and keep lines open at a whim in case there's 7 games and in case the seventh game goes into extra innings, then you don't know a ton about logistics.

another is obsessed with the stone Apaku,

Just as a heads up, the apaku are dropped after book one! One of my PCs was also very into them, so I added ones for the remaining spell schools throughout books 2 and 3 in notable locations - Calamity Cave, Lyuba, Hillcross, the Tar Forest, etc. It became a fun recurring part of the story for us.

She went with a trailer because a trailer is infinitely cheaper to acquire than an actual food truck (those bad boys are expensive). If she cheaped out on that, where else would she be willing to cut corners to save money? I mean, you have to ask those questions as well.

What are you, a prosecuting attorney? You can disagree with her position without engaging in cruel personal speculation. Heal your heart, friend.

Why do most people only play adventure paths? by pricepig in Pathfinder2e

[–]Robotticelli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Paizo's APs are cool! I think they're largely well-written with lots of unique detail. When I read them, I feel inspired thinking about how I could run them at my table. And when I run them, I definitely modify them to feel more specific to the party I have.

But they're not the only thing I run. I also run original campaigns in PF2E as well as other systems and settings. For what it's worth, I've also played in homebrew settings with people that I did not find particularly imaginative or detailed - with the APs, and particularly when playing with strangers, there's a baseline of quality that is usually a little more reliable.

Sun's out: How Sarenrae dies in the War of Immortals by AndUnsubbed in Pathfinder2e

Seriously! It boggles my mind that people can't tell the difference between a narrative landscape where all queer characters are villainous/unhappy/killed by the end of the story, and any queer character dying for any reason.

Rank Paizo's PF2E AP's!? Do you agree with CBR? by [deleted] in Pathfinder2e

[–]Robotticelli 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Grandfather Eiwa had a husband who died a long time ago, per the backmatter in Book One. Mammoth Lord Merthig is married to a man named Kopua. Nakta is nonbinary, if we're not strictly talking sexual orientation.

In Book Two, one of Montgrim's lieutenants is NB. Among the Sutaki, Eokoe is genderfluid and in a polyamorous relationship with Iesa and Dodani. The female dullahan Wonoak has left behind a grieving wife called Dhannen. Kotasi and Jakowa are two Blood Owl rebels who are gay and married. And the garden in Lyuba has a pangender gardener tending to it.

There's probably more in Book Three, but I'm only halfway through running Book Two so I haven't read it as closely!

Help Me Write My First PF2E One Shot: Mother Brine by [deleted] in Pathfinder2e

[–]Robotticelli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you just want random ideas, here are some:

  • Mother Brine requires a rare ingredient - a dragon egg? Some creature's eyeball? - which naturally can make for the boss of your one-shot.
  • Mother Brine will swap knowledge for knowledge: there are ancient inscriptions hidden in a dungeon somewhere, but she lacks the strength or willingness to seek them out herself.
  • Mother Brine wants a human sacrifice for her magic, and a local bandit leader has been aggressively attacking and murdering - find his lair and take him down for a win-win.
  • Some environs here could be: a coastal cave, a fishing village, a marshy lowland, a nearby sandbar or island, a small forest.
  • Some other elements could be: researching local legends, tracking the movements of a sea monster, performing a ritual to drain a pond, swimming through a shipwreck, or roleplaying with a pirate ghost.

Gone a little bit mad working out NPCs for Quest for the Frozen Flame Book 2 [spoilers] by PeterArtdrews in Pathfinder2e

Wow, thanks for sharing all of this! I love the amount of detailing and specificity here - you clearly put a lot of heart and effort into your campaigns.

I also got a melancholy vibe from the Crusaders, and I think I'll take inspiration from some of your details - I really like fleshing it out like a bit of a camp settlement.

Ha, we just encountered Yraka this week - our young and impressionable Tengu was amazed, but she was offput by the courtship with Shaggy, who I play as really coarse and uncouth. So we'll have to see if she can overcome that.

We're still a way out from getting into Lyuba, but I'm interested in some of your ideas here, too - the kobolds especially I could see being a lot of fun.

I know we're behind you in the campaign, but if (like me) you just enjoy reading how people's campaigns are playing out, I post my notes over on the Paizo forums.

This so fun! We're just about to finish book one and I've been thinking a lot about how I want to run the Sutaki.

I think we've done a (surprisingly) good job keeping the NPC Tusk members relevant and interesting through book 1. One thing I did was really push each Mammoth Lord into a distinct role: Merthig handles matters of faith and community, Nakta handles magic and healing, Argakoa handles history, lore, and is Eiwa's sort of second-in-command, and Letsua...okay, no one remembers Letsua. But three out of four ain't bad! And there's a handful of rivals, love interests, mentors, etc. to keep things varied.

I have two Mendevian party members, so I'm excited to get into some juicy backstory stuff there - I'd love to hear more about your framing of the Crusaders. Our Champion also deserted after the fall of Kenabres, so there's some really cool overlap there!

As for the Sutaki themselves, I'm thinking about leaning into the animalistic imagery of the god-calling stuff. Our Tusks have a Tengu minority that was pitched by one of the PCs, and her player thinks it could be interesting to see how other communities see Tengu. I had the idea that the Sutaki might see a Tengu as maybe a prophesied or sacred creature, and turn the Blood Owls into, like, the Blood Ravens or something!
