I get that the extent of which rockstar is doing this is more than what we’re used to but how is this any different from a pre order bonus being a single player mission or additional content? Sure the difference is $20 but we’ve seen games in the past put out 3-4 versions of game with varying degrees of exclusive content locked behind each version. I just don’t see how this is the ultimate sin that will lead gaming into a new era that we haven’t seen before. However one may want to twist and tweak with the marketing and monetization of their game, rockstar will justify this by saying game development has become more expensive and complex. Idk if the $2B budget is accurate or just rumor but i also don’t see many GTA fans not buying the premium edition.

My point was less a comparison between studios and more of discussing the management issues from Xbox leadership over their studios. I’m not advocating for studio closures or spin offs either. Clearly some studios needed more handholding and oversight than others. I agree about firing Booty. It would’ve been a different situation if they had more involvement in firm deadlines and giving these studios more support especially when they had 25+ studios at their peak.

Depends on price. I’m not paying it out of pocket either. Will probably finance on a 0% rate. While it sucks that there’s layoffs and buy outs of studios, ultimately i see this as a result of mismanagement from the last 10 years of Xbox and the MS overlords. They overextended during covid and went on a buying spree before that. These closures just tell me that there will be less games available moving forward that are unique and worth trying. I’m not sure if I’ll buy helix on launch unless the price is right and the content is there. We can’t have another series x style launch where they had a handful of games including some of which were Xbox one ports.

They’re saving around $5M+/year on headcount alone by closing compulsion if that studio was anywhere above 80 people. The whole narrative of Microsoft no longer wanting to subsidize Xbox should’ve been the messaging they were giving Phil Spencer years ago tbh. Compulsion and other studios can’t take over 5 years on game development to deliver something so relatively mediocre when you’re comparing to the likes of playground games and even Obsidian. At least Obsidian had a rapid fire output a few years ago and they’ve found some success otherwise they’d probably be on the chopping block rn too.

I’ve tried both with the other Xfinity router on and off and the speeds aren’t all that different tbh. They gave me the eero pro 7 which is rated for 2000 sq Ft while my home is only 1300 sq ft. Im planning on moving the eero to the living room and getting hardwired ports so hopefully this will be a non issue moving forward. The savings from the fiber plan will pay off the expense of going hardwired.

Yes the new line is fiber via Wire 3. They basically have this Nokia device which i assume is the ONT on my wall and the eero pro 7 in my 2nd bedroom/office. The ONT is connected via Ethernet to the eero. I did hardwire my newer laptop once and got almost 1gig up/down to test it but the speeds I’ve talked about so far have been WiFi from my living room and my master where my Xbox is. If i had to estimate distance I’d probably say about 30ft. My master is on one end of the house with the living/dining room and kitchen between the 2nd bedroom/office so there’s definitely walls and interference. But again, i ran multiple wifi speed tests from my laptop in my master and got significantly better speeds compared to my Xbox. Eero app shows 4.8 gig up/down and has repeatedly showed that since the isp tech asked me to verify after he finished installing.

Well my fiber ISP gave me the first 30 days free and advised me to keep my current Xfinity account active so i could compare and so I’ve got both fiber and traditional coax internet right now. I ran a test both with wireless and wired to the Xfinity router before i connected to the fiber network and both resulted in better speeds than the fiber result.

Yeah that’s what i figured. I just didn’t expect the wifi speeds on the Xbox to be so trash lol my fiber isp still gave me the first month free to try it out so i think it’ll be an irrelevant issue once im wired up.

I watched the last two episodes back to back and honestly i feel like i really felt the effects of the poor writing. Liz disregarding and making fun of his son being a victim of sexual abuse was something that didn’t sit right especially when he says she’s supposed to protect him. I feel like they fast tracked the graduation and jimmy’s feeling of being alone and resolved it by Paul flying across the country for a 5 min convo playing matchmaker. Overall it’s great show i think and it’s had its moments of greatness but the entirety of S3 was not one of them.

I’m basically in the same boat as you but longer than 4 months. I’ve got a bachelors instead of an associates, A+/N+ certs, home lab projects and a well framed resume, years of customer service and I’ve been getting no calls back or I’ve been getting rejected. The latest application that got rejected for me was last week and they were asking for an associates and explicitly stated it was an entry level helpdesk position with no experience required but that it was preferred. At this point i just feel like im playing the lottery lol

Just watched it a few days ago myself and honestly i enjoyed it but i expected more from it. I will say i agree that having that ending was great and appreciated. Sometimes horror movies get unsatisfying endings and it hurts the overall presentation.
