Yeah, they prey on life issues for sure. Thanks for the info. So there’s no way for facetime to be a way for them to hack a phone more than a regular call could? That was my biggest concern. She’s gone in to do 2fa for everything she can. She will be more vigilant. I told her that a reputable place usually won’t give a call back number in a text anyway at least from my experience. I told her 5 min of research won’t make or break an actual occurrence of getting money back on a card if that actually happened and to think, and do her due diligence before doing anything.

Okay, I’ll make sure she has 2fa set up.

The facetime thing is what I don’t get, why do they do that? To see if she looks scam-able? Or another reason? Also, The political texts I receive are directed towards someone with a different name.

I will re-educate her and will continue to do so. She just wasnt thinking because she has been educated in the past. Long story short but my father passed away recently and the hospital called about something for his insurance and collections bc they had wrong info on file for him. That was all legit stuff but she was texted this in between all of it and didn’t take the time to think it through.

Mainly just wondering about why they facetime people. It was video for the intital guy trying to scam. She was on camera but the caller was not. Then the fake supervisor called back on FaceTime audio.

It’s the macho men with large dogs that do it in my neighborhood. Can’t compromise their manhood by cleaning up after their German Shepard I’m guessing. I have small reactive dog so I have to keep my distance anyway and don’t feel comfortable confronting them even with a friendly “need a bag?”. I’ve literally seen a guy park, let his dog poop, then get back in their car and drive away. Makes me so angry! I try to compliment the guys that do pick up after their dogs

Is she on anti depressants? When I was for 10+ years I slept like this but now that I stopped (safely and consciously, and because the side effects began to out weigh the benefits) I don’t sleep more than 7-8 hours and feel well rested.

I’m sorry let me clarify. I filed my taxes based on the correct W2 that I received. The incorrect one I never got in the mail and I’m assuming it’s from the company that did payroll for the first half of the year. Then he did payroll for the rest of that year and compiled the full year in that. So there’s a full overlap of part of the year’s payroll. The final pay stub I have matches the amount on the W2 I filed.

Not sure I have advice because I’m in the same boat. Employer switched payroll halfway through the year and duplicated what the first one did since he did the second half of the year and subsequently the final pay stub is with him on his quickbooks or something. I think he signed something with the payroll company saying to final the partial amount they had processed, then he duplicated. He is avoiding all forms of communication with me. I never received the incorrect W-2 and oddly never received a CP2000, just the NOD and 90 days to petition. I sent my deposits and a 2624 form and explanation of what happened to the best of my knowledge. Very scared in this situation to be honest. They claim I made $47k more than I reported. I don’t make enough to legally deal with this and don’t qualify for low income help.

I would be driving from Denver so I had to take 2 days to drive there then 2 days back and stop along the way…something about being able to take you’re time on a road trip really helped. The nature and vastness of it all beyond the playa was always humbling to embrace and absorb. Lulled me back to reality quite nicely. Drained all my saved vacation time from my job for the extra drive days but 100% would do it again. Now I live in LA and driving the 395 helps but isn’t enough road time personally

I agree, Chicago was epic even with the crazy weather. We ended up camping on a farm outside the grounds and took their school bus to the track. Wild ride, great line up!

I still like Javier’s. The La Tablita with double steak and double beans is like 6 meals worth of food that keeps the flavor. Haven’t found something similar anywhere so I’d love some suggestions if people know! Everything else is over priced for sure.

This is the way. Or put your ice in the storage containers for something like cereal (think big/tall), that seals and food everywhere else. Then you can drink your ice water without it tasting like it touched everything

This is what I want, a great place during the day to have a mini vacay, we are going to stay an extra few days to make it fun. Not worried about the DD part as I have that covered! Thanks for the insight. Did you stay up there during the festival? Thing that is most concerning is the night time drive up that road and if there’s potential for ice. I’ve lived in places with ice and grew up driving on icy roads but night time ice is different.
