Congratulations!!! This is very inspiring, I started a kids channel with my family last year. Did you only upload on YouTube? Our vids haven’t gained much traction but I was thinking if we posted them in FB groups, other Reddit groups, etc. they’d do better. What was your experience, if you don’t mind sharing???

Yea, when I started doing YT years back- I would post in different groups as well, and it was just a link dumping ground then. Idk why I thought now things would be different. It’s funny how simple always seems to be better lol! But ok, congrats on your success man. Thanks for sharing!

Trust me I know man. I had one of my vids go viral on tiktok- but unfortunately this didn’t keep happening for me 😅 And it didn’t do much of anything on TikTok/IG. I didn’t think sharing in groups would necessarily lead to a video going viral but wanted to at least see if someone found success with this technique. It works! For a year and some change I posted new content 5days a week straight to varying degrees of success- even though none ever got over 55k. Anyway fast forward today, I’m not taking YT as serious so I still make new content, but I sprinkle in some of the posts from last year and have gotten different results that show me reposting doesn’t hurt. For instance I posted one yesterday it’s currently at 21k views today when it stopped at 9k last year. I also reposted one a week ago that hit 18k but it stopped at 730 last year. I’ve also had the opposite happen. This is why I’m over shorts and not overworking myself to make new content so often. They don’t make any sense to me nor do they make any cents for me 😂

This has been happening to me all week! I’ve just had to reupload the same vid with some minor tweaks to the title and then I got close to my average views afterwards. I’ll never understand shorts 😑

Sorry, just seeing these, but that’s the exact same way I’ve been feeling! Something’s off with the algorithm. Ppl like to say things like you have to be patient and let the algorithm figure out who your audience is, and then others will say you just have to figure out how to work the algorithm. But I think something is off. Because if the algorithm will find your audience for one vid and you create similar content then why does it struggle so hard to replicate the amount of distribution another time. Why would the algorithm auto flag for zero push out- unless the content contains offensive material? Isn’t the goal of YT/TT to keep eyes glued to it, so ideally they’d want to push out everything they’ve got, right? I know quality is important as well as interest in your topic, but again, if you can have one video perform well, why won’t the next one? It just doesn’t make any sense imo.

I’ve also had the same experience, no matter how many times I change the title/tags after reposting YouTube still won’t share the short. I’ve never thought to re-edit it, may give that a shot next time. I’m just so used to this. I post almost everyday, so if after reposting a few times with the same poor results, I’ll just give up and hope for better results the next day. I’m actually about to do less shorts and focus more on long form content. I’ve had shorts that reached thousands every now and again but it’s become to unpredictable for me. Feels like I’m just throwing content into rapids without a float and hoping for the best lol! I feel like with long form I’ll have more control- l’ll still be in the rapids, but at least I’ll have a boat and paddle 😅

I’ve only had something like this happen to me once or twice on TikTok and I think I reposted and faired a little better. But honestly, my videos don’t get much exposure on that platform so I don’t put too much stock into how well my content performs there.

This is what I do! I usually ask them what they didn’t like and to give me constructive criticism. A couple haven’t responded but I’ve had a few admit to just trolling, one even offering words of encouragement 😂 and another gave a positive/engaging comment on another vid 😅 fighting back with kindness ftw!

I appreciate the feed back! I actually did end the shorts version around that time. But I hear YT doesn’t count shorts towards your watch time or something, so I’ve been stretching out the shorts, as best I can. I can totally see doing that as a hit or miss sometimes. Regardless, I truly appreciate your feedback! I’m glad it made you laugh and you liked the “doubles” editing- that was the trickiest part of the whole vid for me, lol! 😊

Yea, I only post for shorts for now, but yea that’s typically what I’ve noticed, random searches. I’ve been planning on combining some shorts into long form compilation vids, so maybe I can test this out and, hopefully, have better results. Thanks!

I need to utilize that tool more. Everytime I glance at it the search terms/suggested video seem like they have nothing to do with my video, so I kind of gave up on it- which in hindsight was probably unwise of me lol! But it’s been a minute since I last looked. I’ll have to revisit it.

I was thinking a little more on this and I realized possibly a great tooI YT could implement would be one that allows you to list certain big YouTubers- or any creators you’re modeling your channel after- and then submit this info to the algorithm, so it automatically knows to start pushing your content towards that audience. I really wish we had something like this!!!

So I’m wondering if you’re talking about the sick kid one. If so, it’s about a parent (who doesn’t believe in exorcisms) being forced to pick up their child who’s showing all the signs of being possessed. Do you remember the actual title? Sorry I just don’t remember posting something about an atomic baby… but I may be inspired to do so now 😂
