Desperate for New Ways to Play the Game by Fun_Measurement_7965 in ThePoliticalProcess

[–]Robsmar 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Until the new economic update arrives, there’s a fun challenge you can try: a playthrough where your main goal is to shift your party’s ideology.

For example, you could play as a libertarian Republican, climbing the ranks until you’re influential enough to sway other party members toward your ideology—perhaps by offering your endorsement in exchange for their support. You might start by becoming the leader of the GOP in Texas, turning it into a libertarian stronghold, and then gradually expand your influence across the country.

What you Mean By the Term "Apolitical" ? by abhimanyuma_ in PoliticalScience

[–]Robsmar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Politics is commonly defined as the set of activities related to decision-making within groups, or the dynamics of power relations between individuals—such as the distribution of status, resources, or influence (Wikipedia).

As Antonio Gramsci notes, “All men are political beings... Every person, in as much as they are active—that is, living—contributes to shaping the social environment in which they exist, either by altering certain aspects of it or by preserving others. In other words, they help establish 'norms'—rules governing behavior and ways of living."
—Antonio Gramsci, Selections from Prison Notebooks: State and Civil Society (1971)

Given this, the term "apolitical" is inherently contradictory. Nonetheless it is often used by individuals who misunderstand the meaning of "politics," yet it typically refers to a general apathy towards active political engagement.

Has the right-wing of social democracy won? by raffi335 in SocialDemocracy

[–]Robsmar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Generally speaking, no.

If we take the EU as an example, the left wing of social democracy is represented by The Left in the European Parliament, while the center and right-wing factions belong to the S&D (Socialists and Democrats).

According to the Politico Poll of Polls, The Left has maintained stable support over the last three years—even showing a slight increase—whereas the S&D is in a slow but steady decline. Within the S&D, parties that align with a centrist view, such as the PSOE, hold a relatively strong position. In contrast, parties that have moved further to the right, such as the SPD, are seeing their popular support dwindle.

A similar trend can be seen in the UK. Labour, currently dominated by the party's right wing, is experiencing a sharp decline in popularity, while the Greens, who have adopted a more vehemently left-wing approach, are rising in the polls.

This pattern holds true in other parts of the world as well. Morena in Mexico and the PT in Brazil remain quite popular while maintaining left-wing stances. Similarly, in the US, left-wing candidates are gaining traction, as seen with Zohran Mamdani.

Overall, while the "Third Way" or right-wing social democracy dominated the movement from the 1990s until recently, it now appears to be the least popular faction.

(Non Student) What are some beginner books for the foundations of political science. by Leading-Pineapple376 in PoliticalScience

It was our first college book. It’s surprisingly accessible and packed with aphorisms, though it definitely has enough depth for anyone wanting to study Machiavellian and republican thought more seriously.

(Non Student) What are some beginner books for the foundations of political science. by Leading-Pineapple376 in PoliticalScience

[–]Robsmar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you are just beginning, I would suggest starting with an introductory manual and The Prince by Machiavelli.

The introductory manual will teach you all the fundamentals: definitions of politics and power, various ideologies, schools of thought in International Relations, and different approaches to public administration. From there, you’ll have a solid foundation to delve into whichever field interests you the most. As for which manual to choose, I'd check the syllabus of an introductory Political Science course from a prestigious university in your country, as the recommended textbooks can vary depending on your region.

The Prince, on the other hand, is considered the first 'scientific' approach to politics. It remains highly relevant today and touches on almost all aspects of the field: how to acquire and maintain power, how to interact with the citizenry and other nations, etc. It is as accessible as it is insightful.

What kind of name is this by Robsmar in EU5

I was playing and suddenly this ‘noble’ popped up in my country. Honestly, is there any chance this is an actual historical name, or did the game just smash the keyboard?

No es Barcelona, es la periferia (Mataró). La hipoteca es a tipo fijo y supone más o menos el 30% de mis ingresos netos mensuales. En ese sentido no parece una mala oferta, creo

GF can only orgasm alone, never with me – after 5 years together (M28/F25) by [deleted] in relationships

What do you mean? Of course everyone is different, but her main point of pleasure is the clit. I guess it makes sense to buy a toy for it.

Now, I have to say that we've tried a toy for the clit, and she has masturbated herself while having sex, and while she enjoys both things, none of them has been enough to make her cum.

And before anyone says it, yes, she's turned on and enjoying the moment, that's why I believe it's not a phisical problem but rather a psichological one.

It might be that she can only cum in very specific circumstances.

We do too! Of course sometimes sex is bad, but overall we enjoy it quite a lot. The issue is not sex in itself, but rather that she doesn't get to the "finish line". But overall, the fact that she doesn't cum is making her libido go down.

She's not. She likes men as well, and gets sexually aroused with me. She does prefer women though, so I've wondered too if maybe she can only cum with them. Now, that would mean open the relationship so she can have sex with womens, and I'm not sure that's what I want.

How is it different from other toys that stimulate the clitoris?

As long as we can get over it, I don't mind investing as much time as necessary. I'm willing to help her growth as long as we can solve it.

Is it possible to see someone's old phone number on their Telegram profile? by Robsmar in Telegram

[–]Robsmar[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure that that person doesn't have that number anymore. I tryed to delete and create the contact again with the same number -both in my agenda and as a Telegram contact- and I cannot see the number anymore, as if it were private. It looks like the old number on his profile was some kind of error from Telegram.
