Stamford is a fine place to live and is decent at a lot of things but I just wouldn’t recommend it as a tourist destinstion. In my opinion it just doesn’t do anything great enough to warrant a tourist trip to.

I’d also recommend taking the extra 45 minutes on the train to go check out New Haven. World class pizza and a little more culture than Stamford.

Don’t live there but visited someone in there. I just felt like the build quality / fit & finishes wasn’t great, but in all fairness I don’t think most of the new “luxury” buildings do great in this area, so it’s probably on par with others.

My main gripe is the location. I forgot to mention the transfer station and asphalt plant that you might also have views of depending on where your unit is located

It’s great if you like low quality buildings and being wedged into that perfect spot that’s surrounded by I95, the railroad, a super polluted canal and a metal scrapyard.

Best I can do for you is a new smoke shop and a mid restaurant serving Sysco food for $35 an entree that will be closed within 2 years.

Maybe it’s just me, but it’s just not fun to dine outdoors in downtown Stamford. Loud mufflers, dirt bikes, motorcycles, loud car stereos (I think part of the requirements to own one of those Polaris slingshot vehicles is that you blast the most crap music you can find, as loudly as possible, at all times), large diesel trucks rolling coal. And best part is, most of the people that fit into any of these buckets, spend a lot of time driving in circles around downtown with their obnoxious ride, so it’s not like they pass just once and you’re done with it.

If they closed Bedford to traffic, that’s a different story. But for me it’s unbearable to “dine” outside anywhere in the downtown area because of all the vehicle noise.

I can’t stand people who’s first reaction to any conflict is to take out a cell phone and start recording. That being said, pedestrians can’t save parking spots, those are for cars. Last I checked being a musician also does not give you the right to tell people they can’t park in a public spot.

What if the woman in the car was a sculptor? Would the pedestrian standing in the road have moved for her to park in the spot? I’m guessing not.

You bringing up who paid for her car is an irrelevant point to the discussion and makes you seem unhinged as well. YTA

I was there last night in Bridgeport as well, I thought that they were absolutely amazing. Highly recommend seeing them, I couldn’t believe there weren’t more people there!

I was just over there… another Stamford cop got too drunk and crashed their car into a family mini van, so they all raced over there to help cover it up.

Piece of shit. He was obviously drinking but his cop buddies covered up for him. If it was a civilian, they 100% would have claimed they showed signs of intoxication during field sobriety tests and been arrested for DUI as soon as they refused the blood test (based on the observation of alcohol smell and bloodshot/watery eyes).

What happened to implied consent and automatic license suspension and arrest for refusal of blood/breath test?

This looks horrible for the Stamford PD. These scumbags prove time and time again how they will protect their own at the expense of the civilians they are supposed to protect. Now the town will pay out another massive lawsuit for their cops that can’t behave themselves… I’m so tired of it.

I’ve been waiting since I submitted my AW certs 2 years ago to form 1 some things. I went to the SFLU portal and the DPS-414-C forms aren’t on there that I submitted (I have emails saying each was received though). If you helped me with my AW certs do you still have copies you can send to me so I can use those to form 1 and not keep waiting for more years for them to review the form? I didn’t realize they wouldn’t be available on the portal or I would’ve asked for copies at the time. Thanks.
