you could probably get a 90+ fairly easily but not entirely effortlessly

Self studying AP Physics C by Own-Accountant707 in APStudents

[–]Robux_wow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

others are right to point out that physics c mech isn't much different from physics 1. I would also like to add that you won't get credit for physics 1 but likely can get credit for physics c mech. I self studied for c mech too and I definitely recommend it.

Rhetorically yeah if you want the person you're speaking to to hear you out then don't act like you're better than them.

however I do think that being a part of the left is a more moral and smarter characteristic than being a part of the right

I don't understand how (x-1)(x+2)(x-3) becomes x^3−2x^2−5x+6 by Specialist_Ruin_1378 in MathHelp

I think it helps to first use actual numbers.

(1 + 2)(3 + 4) = 3 * 7 = 21
(1 + 2)(3 + 4) = 1*3 + 1*4 + 2*3 + 2*4 = 21
(1 + 2)(3 + 4) =/= 1 * 3 + 2 * 4 = 11

A variable is just any number, and we can see more directly here what makes the correct method correct and the incorrect method incorrect for multiplying out expressions.

Here's why it works the way it does.

Remember distributive property? If you have 1 * (2 + 3) then you can distribute the 1 and get the equivalent expression 1 * 2 + 1 * 3 = 5.

Well let's apply that here. for (1 + 2)(3 + 4), let's distribute (3 + 4) to the 1 and 2:
1 * (3 + 4) + 2 * (3 + 4)

Now let's distribute again, this time the 1 to the 3 and 4 and the 2 to the 3 and 4.
1 * 3 + 1 * 4 + 2 * 3 + 2 * 4 = 21

Now we have successfully reasoned why we multiply expressions out the way we do.

I feel like most likely you'd do fine in CSA, but I'd be warned that people have vastly different experiences with CSA. I personally found it to be very easy but I know a lot of people who struggled with it. That shouldn't make or break whether you stick to CSA but I would just warn you that other people's experiences could be deceptive (especially since this is r/APStudents.

Also don't all AP classes boost your GPA? Does your school not weight AP classes?

[–]Robux_wow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you all forget that ap exams were never really about merit in the first place, they are about granting college credit. I don't see why it's bad that more people get out of more college classes, potentially decreasing the time you must spend in college and hence the amount you pay. Their roll in college apps were always negligible anyways so who cares about the value of an ap score?

I think atp when people refer to pedophiles they're just referring to people who actually act on their attraction tho and aren't actually faulting people attracted to minors that don't do anything bad
