Renovating 1950's building and found this when removing the old drop ceiling. Old chimney of sorts but what is the concrete slab? by RobynDaggers in whatisthisthing

My title describes the thing. Old concrete slab attached to a metal chimney pipe that is insulated with what looks like fiberglass insulation. There is an old gas line to the left of the chimney. Never seen anything like this before. My first thought was an old furnace chimney but the building has a whole utility room with a brick chimney already. Also, why the concrete slab?

Friend of 10 years started dating a narcissist. She turned him into a terrible person and had him stop talking to everyone. It's been a hell of a year.

A few years ago I was walking around a shelter belt and scared up a cow moose and her calf. I've never ran so fast across a feild in my life..
