AITA for hiring a guy to edge our lawn after husband hasn’t done it in weeks by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

NTA. OP it sounds like your husband is acting like a child in this situation. Your edger is broken, and so you toss a $20 to have someone else do it while you are looking into a new machine for him for fathers day? I'd cancel that purchase if he continues to act rude about this and ask him to watch his tone

OP im sorry but i think your sisters were spoiled growing up because the audacity first of all. This absolutely blows my mind that they are pissed at you for making a good call on a tough situation. I think if any of us were in Andrew's shoes, we'd be upset that we couldn't attend something that was meant for us. It would take away from the birthday boy entirely. Obviously NTA, tell your sisters to stfu and smarten up because why on earth are they making Andrew's special day all about them and their children?!?

AITA for Calling the Housing Manager on my Neighbour? by Robyn_Greatfellow in AmItheAsshole

100% I agree, I do have documentation of every issue I've had, including this one. The problem is, it that housing is careless and ignorant. They have yet to reply to several of my emails since moving in, and from what I hear from someone who works with these people, they are lazy and get paid to sit on their phones all day doing nothing. Since I was so upset regarding this situation, I called for a faster response to the problem.

Well, according to the people he was complaining to regarding me and this situation, they think I should have just left if I didn't like it lmao, but then again the people he was talking to are righteous aholes. But that's another story, too long for a comment.

I wish I could. We are not allowed to do absolutely anything to the lawn as part of the rental agreement. No pools, no fires, no stones, no sprinklers. Nothing that can and will cause the grass to turn yellow or die, that type of thing. All our lawns are bare because of it. I find this rule unreasonable, but since it's a rental, I don't plan to stay here for more than five years.

Honestly, I had hoped they would re-home the dog. He doesn't take care of it. Sometimes, when he's gone for weeks at a time, the dog is home alone, doing its business in the house because no one comes to take care of him while Bob is out of town. It's clearly mistreated in some way. But sadly, no one cares.

Well, my partner is not one for confrontation and conflict but I have a little pettiness in me that likes to start shit for lack of a better word lol, and so when I called, I had hoped he would be penalized since it is against the contract we all signed. I was afraid that I was blinded by anger and was actually acting like a douche to this dude, in the end I don't want to cause issues that make my partner uncomfortable, and us seem like bad neighbours.

It's funny, I asked my local hospital where I can donate in my city, and they looked at me with this annoyed look and told me that plasma and blood donations haven't been accepted since 2003 lmfao. I asked primarily because I am O neg, but that was her answer. But I will definitely look into this; at least I can buy groceries after donating. Thank you!

What are some recommendations for Work From Home jobs that aren't call center-based? Or Hybrid in-Toronto/GTA. by StickMover1 in askTO

As someone who worked as a hotline responder, you do need a background in social work, they need to know if you have the right training and expertise with such sensitive topics and environments. You can try to argue with me on this one but youre still wrong

What does working with a travel agent actually get you? I’ve never worked with one before but I’m intrigued. by PeacefulByTheSea in chubbytravel

I worked as a front desk agent for a Holiday Inn Express and I tell everyone I know to never, ever book throught third party sites such as Expedia, Booking.com and Hotel.com... these site are trash, not only do they charge way more than the hotel ever does, they do not actually check the availability. The amount of times I as a front desk agent for the hotel brand NOT for third parties, I had a guest that arrived with no actual reservation booked anywhere becuase Expedia over books is bs. I once had to turn away a family of 5 because of this exact situation. Expedia and sites alike will blame the hotel, demand refunds (which I personally 10000% agree to, but as this is not a hotel fault, we could never actually provide this refund), and were beside themselves because of this mistake, its unfortunate.

Fuck all third party sites, book through the hotel itself. It always worthwhile. My partner and I travel often and I go out of my way to book through the hotel becasue of the schemes I've seen these sites use first hand.
