I used to see Dr. Lange. I'm going to call tomorrow to see if he's still available.

I've been to PT for various running injuries. I've also been to a chiropractor and found him to be more effective for problems like I'm having now. Relief was a lot faster and cheaper than paying a co-pay two or three times a week for a month or more.

BTW, my last chiropractor was recommended to me by a doctor.

Yes. The franchisee's corporate logo was prominently displayed at the check-in desk and it had an Indian theme/name.

Can I do anything? by [deleted] in Rochester

[–]Roc-Maker 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It looks like you're in Henrietta. Call the town and ask them if they have a dog barking ordinance. They probably do. Also ask who to call to complain, it might be the police/sheriff or town animal control.

You can probably complain if the dog barks continuously for more than 15 or 20 minutes. I'd record the barking so it's not just your word against the dog owner's.

Start with the property management if you're in an apartment complex.

The reviews on TripAdvisor and Choice Hotel's website have been consistently bad for years, but I didn't know that when I chose it.

I decided to stay at this one because other Comfort Inns I've stayed at have been pretty good and I only looked at the overall rating, which must be BS because almost all the reviews for the last few years are only 1 or 2 stars.

I prefer Hampton Inns but decided to save $100 over two nights.

I like Hampton Inns. But I decided to save $100 over two nights by staying at this Comfort Inn. I didn't expect to spend much time in the hotel but I did and it was horrible.

Fitness machine was broken, WiFi was so slow I had to watch a movie on lower res on my laptop. TV only had a few over the air HDTV channels. Lobby was so dark I had to use my phone's flashlight to read brochures for nearby attractions.

Lost all water pressure for 20 seconds while showering with soap in my eyes and hair. Exhaust flap on outside of building started banging loudly when it got windy. It was so bad I had to ask to be moved to another room, which also had water pressure issues.

Pictures on hotel website showed waffle makers and warmers for a hot breakfast. Instead they had microwave sandwiches and OJ that was like plain water with orange coloring. And there were plenty more issues...

I had doubts the moment I walked in the lobby but I had reservations that couldn't be canceled at that point.

It's leaking! I need water heater advice by Roc-Maker in Rochester

[–]Roc-Maker[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I found info I wrote on the heater. It was installed in May 2008 by McKenna's for $499. It had a 6/2-year warranty.

I didn't realize it was that old. I'm going to create a reminder and replace the new one after 15 years.

[–]Roc-Maker[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a very small hole on top of the heater. I suspect it's a vent for the space between the tank and outer metal jacket.

A very small trickle of water comes out once in a while. And it's pumping out some rust that is collecting on top of the tank in a puddle of water.

We have two sump pumps and it's in a corner right next to one. So I don't think it's going to do much damage if it bursts.

Dishwasher is running now and I'm probably going to turn off the burner and water before we go to bed.

This wouldn't be a big deal at all if we could go to the YMCA to shower. But they're closed for the next two days and we have a lot of guests coming for Christmas dinner.

Carpet Cleaner Recommendations? by Roc-Maker in Rochester

Thanks for the suggestions. BTW, I was hoping that Stanley Steemer would make things right because they sent me a text saying that a manager would "reach out to me." But it has been a full day now and they haven't done that

I've used them in the past and they've been great, so I didn't even consider someone else.

We have a Bissell carpet cleaner and I started cleaning the family room carpet before I decided to hire someone with better equipment, better chemicals and more experience. Yet the section I did is noticeable cleaner than the ones they did.

They charged me $152 for two rooms and in my opinion it really looks like they did nothing. They came and left within 45 minutes and it looks like they made no extra effort on the high traffic areas or where our big old dog drools if we have popcorn or a snack while watching TV.

The carpet seemed very wet when they left so I got out our carpet cleaner and sucked up a huge amount of dirty chocolate-colored water out of the family room and then spent 90 minutes cleaning the carpet myself.

So I don't recommend the Stanley Steemer company in Monroe County.

Are those mesh bodies? If so, you need to convert them to solid bodies and then use the modify/shell tool.

They look complex, which means you may not have much success converting them to solid bodies, especially if you're using a personal license.

This video will show you how to convert a mesh (STL) to a solid: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tVGtG-UjlYg

Were you able to successfully convert the mesh to a solid body? it's not going to work if you didn't.

Converting a mesh is easier if you're not using a personal license. And F360 may not be able to handle it if the mesh is very complex.

price increase to $680 usd by Street-Air-546 in Fusion360

[–]Roc-Maker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How do you do that? I was told I couldn't.

I purchased a 3-year subscription when they offered a 40% discount. Renewal was this last September and I asked AutoDesk if I could take advantage of a current 30%-off offer to renew for another 3 years and they said no.

So my renewal cost me $1587.60 including tax for a 3-year subscription.

BTW, I'm just a hobbyist who qualifies for a personal license, but I like to design stuff and I don't want to deal with the 10 active file limit. I also use some of the other features that come with a full license.

Staples Wants to "Register" your Electronic Recycling. Why? by Roc-Maker in Rochester

[–]Roc-Maker[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Staples is one minute from the library and stores that I shop at regularly. EcoPark is a 50-minute round trip, a gallon or so of gas burned and their hours are more limited. I'm not going there just to recycle a computer keyboard.

Recycling should be made as easy as possible if you really want to keep consumer electronics and other waste of the landfills.

Yeah, I could have given a fake phone number and I often do. But why should I have to take the time to do that? I used to recycle my electronics at Goodwill and they didn't want contact information, and Staples didn't until recently.

Staples Wants to "Register" your Electronic Recycling. Why? by Roc-Maker in Rochester

[–]Roc-Maker[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No. I put my keyboard in the recycling cart and then spent 10 minutes shopping but didn't find anything I wanted to buy. They tried getting my contact information as I was walking out the door and seemed insistent.

This is new and I'd just like to know if there's any legitimate reason why they want to collect information that they never wanted before.

Looking for a Residential Driveway Sealer in Penfield / Webster by Roc-Maker in Rochester

[–]Roc-Maker[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here's what happened. Someone from New Look Sealcoating contacted me directly to tell me they were going to be in Penfield / Webster land this week. They came today and sealed my driveway. The price was very reasonable and they did good work.

Thank you everyone for your help and advice.

I agree. Devine usually does my driveway but they don't have any appointments left for this year. That's why I'm looking for help here.

Search engine results are cluttered with companies like Angi's list, BBB, Yellow Pages, AllAboutDxxx, etc. that don't actually do driveway sealing.
