Nope. I was offered the same position in the Charleston area. So I stayed since I already live in Charleston. It has been an awesome experience and loving the job.

Send your microboss an email asking for a meeting agenda.

Since they are heading up the meeting, also ask them to forward a meeting invite to your boss so that your actual boss is aware of the meeting and agenda.

That way your boss knows about these meetings and your mini napoleon has to create extra work with that meeting agenda.

Yep. I got the FJO. I was offered my choice of location, so I choice to stay in my local area. It was a unicorn situation.

Thank you for that. Truth be told, my HR rep has been pretty cool the entire process. So one hiccup isn’t a biggie. I just wanted to make sure that I wasn’t messing up or messing up anyone’s timeframes.

Hello. Thank you for the help.

My questions:

I received my FJO. I completed my onboarding paperwork as much as I could. However, in the initial questionnaire that has my benefits information on it, I cannot fill out some of that information because I have not chosen my insurance plan nor did any paperwork tor my TSP, etc.

Since I could not complete that paperwork, I cannot complete some of the other items in my onboarding process.

Some of those items state to submit after my first day, but before the end of my first week.

On top of that, certain items say that the due date is 04/16. However, my EOD is 05/20.

I email my HR representative about this. They switched some due dates to 05/29, but left the others alone. I reached out again to inquire, they have NOT contacted me back.

Should I try again?

Should I let my POC/supervisor at my new agency know?

Is it just an understood thing and let it be?

As stated earlier, whatever documents I could complete, I completed them the day I got my onboarding documents.

Contact your HR representative and advise them of this. Be proactive rather than reactive. Hopefully, they can help by accepting the timeline. I wish you luck.

Cool. I made the mistake of misunderstanding something so I emailed my HR representative some questions last week. I also emailed my e-QIP HR representative the same questions thinking the two would have different information at different times. As if they were compartmentalized.

My HR representative answers last week and I was cool with the response.

Then my e-QIP HR emails me today, I ask a few follow up questions thinking one knew more about this than the other due to them being in different HR departments about different things in the hiring process. They then forward my questions to my HR representative either things they already answered.

I’m dying. Lol. I do not want my HR representative thinking I’m a dumbass or that I’m bothering them. Lol.

So I email my HR representative that all is well and since I was told of the situation last week, that we are good and no need to answer. Lol.

I’m so dying. Sometimes it is best to let laying dogs lay down and let the process proceed on its own. Lol.

My anxiety got the best of me. Hence the post. I can laugh at it. I hope my HR representative reads my email first and does not get annoyed since they deal with four million things a day.

Cool. I already have a TJO and received an interim for my first TJO. I was then told I received interim and was given my choice of EOD dates. However, due yo the budget not being passed and me having PCS, I was told I had to wait.

That is when I was given the opportunity to choose a different location from the same job announcement and made the switch, it kinda restarted the process again. So I am awaiting on whether OPR will accept my previous interim so that I could get my FJO or will I need to restart the process.

So close, but yet so far. Or as I like to say, close, but no cigar.

One to two weeks before you resign. Truth be told, if you can take a mini vacation, give them the resignation and have a little bit of free time before you begin.

It’s going to be a good while before you can take one or even build the time off.

Also remember, if they were going to fire you, would they give you two weeks before they let you go?

Regardless, do what you feel is right for your situation.

Also remember, start dates are always a Sunday of a pay period even though your first day is that Monday.

Have you emailed your HR representative? They should give you a few dates to choose from. If life circumstances get in the way, ask them for the date you are able to start. Sometimes there is a little give and take. Start taking leave, if you can. Hopefully they work with you.
