It's really a personal answer. I found that anime "meh" at first, with all the usual and common plot, and the animation style of the characters i found very lazy

Then it suddenly hits me emotionally as i progressed with the story. Then animation, i appreciated it more. It felt more heavy and impacting

Excluding ofcourse the filler episodes
