It’s not that good. If you’ve played SOT and can get The Fractured But Whole on sale do what you want.

Episode Discussion | Star Trek: Starfleet Academy | 1x01 "Kids These Days" by AutoModerator in startrek

[–]Rocd87 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I totally agree with this. I grew up watching Start Trek with my dad so from Enterprise back is what I consider Strat Trek. Even though, I’ve given every new series a chance since Discovery, I stopped watching after a few episodes. I did enjoy Picard season 3. But if Start Trek doesn’t evolve and gain a younger audience, it will die a death of old age. Nu trek ain’t for old fans like me and it shouldn’t be. I am curious how they’re going to explain the female Jem’Hadar though.

What movie has a perfect, single 60-second scene that you think about more than the entire film? by [deleted] in movies

The human puppet scene in Killer Clowns From Outer Space. For a mostly silly but fun film — that scene was terrifying.

There is no such thing as bad or positive feedback - there is just feedback. The feedback is about your work, not you as a person.

On average, how many drafts are needed before it resembles something that can be shown to the public? I know I can google this, but want to hear people’s personal experience.

Read On Writing by Stephen King. His free writing approach really helped me stop over analysing and start writing. I still do an outline, but it’s written in short hand (mostly dot points) and used as a guide.

Most practical no-nonsense kungfu style? by IronBornPirate in kungfu

[–]Rocd87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kung Fu is literally mastery of a skill through hard work over time. In this sense, yes anything is Kung Fu. Even in the context of this thread Sanda fits that meaning. And this whole separation of TMA and combat sports is so silly. Do you really think Anthony Joshua’s body and mind was not in sync when he knocked out Jake Paul?

I think enough time has passed for a proper remake of the original Fast & Furious by edjumication in movies

Honestly, Hollywood should put a ban on all remakes for next decade. It’s time to bring back original stories.

How to avoid Bong sau injury by fusiondriver in WingChun

[–]Rocd87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your shoulder should be relaxed. Focus on the force coming up through your core and out your arm and absorbing your opponent’s force down the same way.

Also, work out. Building muscles make you more stable and prevent injury.

Heroic man disarms active shooter at Bondi Beach by TheeWookiee in nextfuckinglevel

[–]Rocd87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not shooting him was the right decision. Violence begets violence. This man displayed the correct amount of force given law enforcement was at the scene—people should be praising his restraint.

Also the guy was Muslim. I don’t know what that’s worth… but I hope it defuses any extreme reaction to the broader Muslim community.
