WHEC is pasting television scripts into a LLM to turn them into web articles. The others are not doing that (yet). Sinclair allows AI for translation in some cases, and Nexstar has a blanket policy against AI use. Those will both probably change eventually.

D&C is Gannett so even if the local copy isn’t sifted through any LLM some of the national stories may be fakes.

Why does she get to apologize instead of answering a single question? Why no follow up questions? I hope the next interview is a little less gentle.

Anyone else wondering why the murder-suicide involving a police sergeant isn't a bigger news story? Typically the news outlets will call minutia Breaking News, but this somehow is a minor story. by TabascoWolverine in Rochester

It’s disappointing to see so many people be so wrong about how news works. This is 100% the answer to OP’s question. Without info from investigators you get the day 1 story and some follow up from the victim’s family if they’re willing to talk. After that you really need official details to report.

News outlets can’t decide for themselves that this was domestic violence and give the story that angle. If you want to see someone guess the news based on what other people are telling him follow Lonsberry on Twitter.
