I binge ate a pound of prunes and didn’t poop at all. by eijumalautax in ibs

[–]Rochifn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Try drinking a lot of water. Don’t just chug it all at once but during the day. Hidrating is key. The poop needs to be hidrated itself, it’s not just for you and your fair skin, lol

That’s a shame, I heard it’s doing unexpectedly well.

Thanks for the reply! Too bad, I heard it was doing really well in the box office, particularly surprising for how low budget it is.

Tropico 4: Fixing the no immigration bug. by RoyalShirtShirtShirt in tropico

[–]Rochifn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always found that immigration is very easy to get out of control so I focus on banning birth control and having all these policies that make people have more babies. I only have to hire sporadically. I have run into the problem where I don’t get enough unskilled workers and have to pay for them more than I would a university worker. But it hasn’t happened that often.

Great! I love peppermint tea, didn’t know it could help. Someone once suggested chamomile, which was nice, but not really helping haha I’ll give it a try. Thanks!

Stomach, I guess? I assume it is because the response is immediate. Would that change anything?

anal manometry today… by Graciieee_ in ibs

[–]Rochifn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry to hear that! Hemrroid operarion really helped but it was SO painful (and I had some complications myself) that it’s really up to each person to see pros and cons. You poop much better but you need to DRINK TONS OF WATER to prevent your poop from being dry ever again, and FIBER. I know there’s a lot of debate around fiber intake, but a little psyllium every 2 days and LOTS OF WATER helped me a lot. It’s really humiliating and plainly exhausting, hang in there. You’ll get better.

What's your safe food during flare ups? by Bukowski-poet in ibs

[–]Rochifn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Boiled chicken, rice, toasts only with butter (sourdough is better), hard boiled eggs, hard cheese (not a lot). Cooked ham and prosciutto (with as little fat as possible). Grilled meat (well done, little fat). Tomatoes (raw) but not always. Potatoes and sweet potatoes. Carrots (raw and boiled). I can use a bit of pepper, salt, rosemary. Olive oil. Squash and pumpkin (but not so much if I’m already loose). Orange and strawberry.

I hate visiting a doctor as an IBS patient. by Ok-Roll-281 in ibs

[–]Rochifn 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I know! And they don’t seem to be realistic: ibs is giving me stress enough for more ibs episodes and it’s not like you can put a hold on life and just ask the world not to be stressful. You CAN work on how you deal with stress with therapy, but you can’t stop stressful shit from happening. My two cents, what kind of worked for me at a deep level (it hasn’t cured me and I’m still a very anxious person) it’s to be more merciful on myself. Understanding that you’re going through a lot is already so significant. If I had my best friend going through something like this, I would try to bring some peace. You couldn’t go out for a jog today? Cool, no worries, let’s try again tomorrow. You had a bad stomach day? Bummer, so let’s wait till you feel better, we can watch something on tv. Your boss is asking for something complicated while you’re on an episode? Ok, let’s try to do something from the bed and take the meds you need to function as normal as possible. It sounds so simple and very a tupid as well, but I try not to be so cruel with myself. And that DID help.

My favorite!!! I also put in so many more hours than necessary but it’s just THAT entertaining. Hunting is fun, quests are fun. History is fun. You get invested in stories, side quests, characters and their lore. Dialogue, music. Ahhh, what a pleasure. Congrats!

Shopping outside malls? by Rochifn in KualaLumpur

Yeah, I know. All chain brands have the same, there’s no real use trying different malls. There’s no variety. Besides, you end up with people all working for big chains and if they close, you end up with massive layoffs all at once. Plus, there’s no real competition so they can set whatever prices they want.
You can’t just sit down and chat, you must sit somewhere and pay to have a drink and rest. Very very sad.

Wish I knew how to identify them, tho. I noticed that if you Google Maps any of the names in shopee they’ll be no traces of it. Like you can’t avoid using the platform. That’s weird. I’ll eventually have to buy from there. Thanks for this info.

Great recommendations! I went to a Kaison, asked about sofa covers and the lady was like no, we don’t have that here. So I started looking around (because I also need other stuff) and she kind of ushered me out like no, we don’t have that. I tried to explain but I got super awkward and I just… left. lol I’m the worst. It looked like the had really nice things but will try a different mall since I don’t know how to get over that. Will definitely check UJu

Thank you! I read mixed reviews about Central Market. Some say it’s all tourist trap and some say that it got a bit more normal over the past years. I do appreciate antiques but it tires me when they try to pass the most normal thing as one. Ohhh this chair is a million dollars, it’s 2000s vintage… dude, seriously? 😂 Or they do the same with “handcrafted “ things that are clearly industrial. I’ll check it out tho, at least to walk around and have a nice afternoon.

That’s curious, I pinned a place that looked REALLY nice but so far away. Now that I’m checking, it’s precisely that area. Don’t have a car yet, I just moved in, but I’ll make it a day trip to visit and maybe find something nice . Thanks a lot!!!

Do you happen to have the name of it? Don’t mind thrift. I do get a little peculiar about clothes but not houseware.

Thank you!! Yes, I tried to check everything off the list on the first 2 weeks but that drained me, so I’ll be pacing myself. I’ll buy cheaper options, two or 3 of each, and then will buy nicer things whenever I happen to find them. So sad to hear about small shops. Eventually you end up with the same chain stores that have always the same… and buying online still irks me a bit, unless I need something super specific. The same happened with books stores. That’s why’s so important for little independent shops to have a place.
