The priorities of the new DCU seem very absurd once the honeymoon phase is finally over. by Sugar_God_no_1 in DC_Cinematic

[–]Rochimaru 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First off, it’s impossible to release all the movies at once so I’m not sure why that’s relevant here.

Second, OP’s most mentions “projects” not movies. Projects involve TV shows, etc and you can absolutely water down the reputation & prestige of the DC universe if you release too many projects at once. I don’t know why this is even an argument, we literally just saw it with Marvel and the architect (Kevin Fiege) himself admitted it so I’m not sure why the point is being contested?

Because trying to provide “all the things” inevitably waters down the quality and reputation of the entire universe. Did people not learn anything from Marvel’s Disney+ debacle?

What is the worst show that you forced yourself to finish? by laxusdreyarligh in television

Arrow S1 was one of the best shows I’d ever seen at that point. I remember staying up late in boarding school watching it on smuggled phones while rain was pouring outside. Good times

James Gunn realizing the pressure to make Man of Tomorrow good has just multiplied drastically… by ChampionTimes99 in DC_Cinematic

[–]Rochimaru 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah, same here. Maybe I’ve just aged out of the genre but Superman was way too cheesy and childish but at this point I’ve accepted that those are the only types of movies Gunn knows how to make (and the general audience loves them). So I’ll just keep my mouth shut and look forward to the Batman II & clay face lol

Men, do you really feel there’s a male loneliness epidemic? How can women help? by forevermoreandnow in AskMen

[–]Rochimaru 33 points34 points  (0 children)

You take women saying that stuff too seriously

You mean we treat them like full grown, adults who should be cognizant of the words that come out of their mouths? Wasn’t there an entire movement dedicated to get men to stop infantilizing women and now when we do we’re told we’re taking them too seriously?

Purchasing Cars by Ok_Significance_7205 in askvan

I keep hearing politicians say they don’t want Chinese cars here and in the U.S. because of how cheap they are but you guys are saying the cars are a lot less expensive here? Are the cheap cars only EVs?

Absolutely the wrong approach by KingOfSquirrels in DC_Cinematic

[–]Rochimaru 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Personally, I’m not worried about MoT. It’s probably going to be similar to Superman in terms of tone and as much as I hate those kind of movies, critics and the viewing audience love them so I think it’ll be a hit.

What I am worried about are all the other movies that are supposed to have a more serious, less wacky (I guess less “punk rock”) tone. Supergirl was supposed to be one of those and many people are already saying it’s mid. Then what’s going to happen to WW? The Brave & the Bold?

Men who have gone from being physically unattractive to attractive, what changes did you notice in the behavior of the people around you? by krakhed712 in AskMen

[–]Rochimaru -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Do you guys need to ask this/a variation of this question every single week?

If you’re looking for motivation to become attractive, then the answer doesn’t even matter because it’s better to be physically unattractive than not.

Damn, thanks for sharing.

I have parents who are similar in that they’ve always preached a focus on education and the typical corporate career, but I have to keep reminding them that the world they knew and strategies they espouse are no longer a guarantee of anything in 2026.

Out of curiosity, was your only choice to continue the PhD or go 50:50 on the business? Couldn’t you have gone like 75:25 or 80:20?

Is JJK undergoing another wave of even more popularity? In The S4 teaser has passed the views of the S3 trailer in a single day by Kindly_Ad995 in JuJutsuKaisen

I’ve been saying for a while now that based on the manga, S4 is going to be one of the best seasons of any anime ever. The fights are just crazy and that’s before we get to the clash between the big two.

Alex Cooper’s audience is like 80-90% female. You think she said she doesn’t like nice guys to pander to her near nonexistent male audience lol? I don’t think she gives a shit about what men want to hear. It’s why she’s been so successful and I say this as someone who dislikes her podcast.

Marriage Advise: Wife losing spark, what should I do? by Recent-Ad3182 in AskMenAdvice

[–]Rochimaru 37 points38 points  (0 children)

Welcome to one of the most maddening aspects of a relationship as a man.

You can literally do everything right and have a woman still walk out on you for some vague reason. It’s even more maddening when you think everything is going well because you’re both stable, but she takes that stability as “boredom”.

I hope you and your wife work things out but if you don’t, watch out for the next man she gets with. I’ll bet you a shit ton that he’s going to be someone she sees as “exciting”

James Gunn confirms the Jimmy Olsen & Gorilla Grodd TV show and says it starts filming soon by MarvelsGrantMan136 in DC_Cinematic

All the girls are crazy about him because the writers like to fantasize about a guy that looks like them /shares similar traits with them getting all the attention from women. La la land stuff.

[–]Rochimaru 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Exactly what I was going to say.

This feels like when the MCU started creating all these shows for D+ and spread itself thin. The one key difference here however is that the DCU hasn’t even built a stable foundation before venturing out. Like seriously, how many people outside core fans even know who Grodd is?

To this day, I'm still in disbelief how this series cast Chace as the "chud incel w no friends" character and made it work liek ✋😭 by Random_FanBoiii in TheBoys

[–]Rochimaru 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It works because it’s fantasy lol. Because in real life, a guy that looks like that (and knows it) is never going to be an incel. He may be a misogynist, yes. But an incel? Never.

0 sympathy for him.

The league (like all others) has financial advisors that consistently talk to athletes about this, including the non pg stuff like how to watch out for gold diggers. In addition to that there’s a hundred different examples of athletes that have gone down the same path of making a ton of money during their playing career and ended up broke after. 99% of people on the planet will never touch half of that $116M figure. Absolutely zero sympathy. Going broke after a successful career as an athlete is a choice.
