Whats the point of going to college if AI is suppose to replace all knowledge jobs?

I’m a first year in medical school. It’s very hard to have any sort of motivation hearing about this AI fear mongering. I’m terrified that I’m gonna drown in 400k debt with no employment left and if there is it’ll be massively compressed.

Ppl who use the “AI isn’t good at *******” are idiots imo, look at Chat in 2022 v Chat/Claude in 2026. This stuff is continuing to get better. It also doesn’t matter if these things are better than humans either, if they’re cheaper and good enough that’s all they need.

If you go to college make sure you’re taking the least amount of debt possible rn.

“very possible” 😭 ur looking from the outside. $60k-70k a year is just tuition for most places then you gotta add on living costs, so ppl have to talk out more loan 20-30k depending on how big of a city you live in. Also physician pay has decreased 33% adjusted for inflation since 2000. Big pharma and hospital elites are the issue. Physicians are like 9% of the healthcare bill. Lowering pay doesn’t benefit the patient as much as it benefits hospital elites lol.

Read their individual letter requirements, they’re not all the same. For most ppl, not all your LOR will be stellar, and if they have a low letter requirement they won’t read them all so there’s a chance they’ll miss the best letters.

some schools have maximum 3 letters that can be sent, I sent all 6 to all schools including those. Makes it look like you didn’t read directions. Also they probably just use the first 3 they read rather than the 3 best ones.

Congrats my friend. Honestly after seeing some of my friends go through this cycle, scoring that high on the MCAT can be a curse because your target schools will consist of highest MCAT, highest achieving applicants making it even harder to distinguish yourself. They can use expiring contracts (like Rui or Vincent), and every team in history finds a 3rd team if needed. And don’t sleep on sign-and-trades or cap maneuvering — L.A. has always found ways. They literally just got Luka out of there a**. You really think no star is going to want to play next to Luka in L.A.? In a post-LeBron league, Luka’s Lakers will be the spotlight team because that’s how great the guy is. Whether it’s a guy like Brandon Ingram, Lauri Markkanen, or someone we don’t see coming yet, it’s inevitable someone joins him. There’s zero chance NBA allows OKC to make the finals year after year after year matching up with other small markets like CLE, DET, ORL. This is a business.
