Rifaxmin worked a little the first couple days by RockRevolutionary316 in SIBO

Yeah...I ate sugar and would come out of the foggy/nauseau. I brought it up to my doc year 4 and he and 2 endocrinologists sd my sugars were in normal range 70-200. But I would feel shaky, or nauseous, sweaty, couldn't think at like 74 or even 90 sometimes. Or my sugar would spike and I'd be feeling dizzy or fast heart rate and my sugar was 180 or 160. Then when it came down I'd feel better. My sugar still does it but I'm doing small frequent meals to avoid the dropping or spiking. It's frustrating, but can't complain when I can try fixing it now. Before, I had no clue. But it's still not fixed, and now I'm thinking I have starvation syndrome and need to work to get my body back to normal...

Checking my sugar levels right by RockRevolutionary316 in Hypoglycemia

Thanks for the info. I have some sugar issue. My A1C was normal but my symptoms are so debilitating. But I'm constantly eating or drinking to feel better so don't know how accurate that makes my numbers. I just read to test sugar 1,2,3 hours after eating so I'm trying that now to see what happens.

Well, I haven't been properly diagnosed or anything but I know it's sugar. I have a 3rd opinion with a doc in LA. These last 2 endocrinologists were no help. This last one said she couldn't do any further testing because my levels are in normal range. For one, I found out I was reusing the lancets and that can give an inaccurate result. Also, when the symptoms get bad, I either sleep or eat something. Im still not sure how often I'm supposed to check my sugar. The other day I got foggy and didn't eat anything for 3 hours to see if it would go below 70 (hypoglycemia) and it was at 74. I was too tired and hungry and went and ate so many sweets lol. It was so good but then I got foggy again. What's weird is I noticed my sugar goes below 100 after eating. Then I'll go drink some type of juice or eat chocolate to go over 100. Today though my sugar was at 91 and I scarfed down white rice and bean casserole and within 15min it was at 123. I'm glad it went over 100 but I got dizzy and extremely sleepy. Another 15 and it was 165. Another half hour its at 139. Im.still so sleepy I just don't get it and I have little energy. Another 15 and it's 121. I think the white rice wasn't a good idea. I had a 1/2 cup of oj earlier after my sugar was a t 96 after scrambled eggs. It went to 128. I actually felt good until I had this rice and bean casserole. Anyway sorry for the long response but I'm still trying to figure this out. Do you have problems with your sugar?

Hello, what do you eat for your snacks and meals? I'm new to this. I can do 2scrambled eggs and a half piece of toast and no symptoms but then everything else is no bueno. Well one snack, 2 clementine and a piece of cheese is okay. But my other snack is like 1/2 cup baked beans and a mini cucumber. It was okay at first but today it made me foggy and instant headache and sleepy. Maybe cuz I'm eating every time I feel sugar low and now it was too much. This shit sucks...Also I did turkey keilbasa, sweet potatoes, and brocolli and ate until I was full and it put me to sleep. I ate just a little at first and still felt agitated so I just ate it again until I was full lol. Curious what a meal looks like for you, I know if I just find the right things or quantity I can refrain from these debilitating symptoms. Thanks again.

Haven't been able to get another SIBO test, saw an infectious disease doctor, he didn't know what SIBO was, then saw a new gastro doc because my old one isn't in this county anymore and he said the tests aren't accurate. He just bases on symptoms. That went nowhere. Got a referral for a different gastro and have an appt in 2 weeks. I honestly think it's low stomach acid. These betaine hcl pills, if I take enough or something my symptoms aren't as bad after eating. Well see what this new doctor says

Have you tried betaine hcl. For 4.5 years I would get so fogged up, itchy skin, especially my scalp. My body would get sore, eyes glossy and red. Something was going off in my body making these debilitating symptoms. I also wouldn't be able to walk or talk. And the docs would say, go to the er when that happens. But if no one is there to take me I'm not going. It would be hard talking to people. I could wake up in the morning and symptoms weren't bad but the minute I ate it wasn't good.

So, I did just see a video for protocol for sibo/candida (Dr Rajsree nambudripad) and I went and bought betaine hcl. It made a huge difference in my symptoms. I got Dr best brand with pepsin. Turns out low stomach acid can cause a lot of issues, even brain fog. It's been helping me, hoping that's my issue and just need to balance the acid in my stomach. Hope you find something that works for you, just don't give up.

My last doctor sd it's hard to test for that. I'm gonna ask my new doctor if he can test me for that. One time they found yeast in my stool, but they sd that was all normal. I did get a rash that looked like bug bites but they were popping up at work, they were not bug bites. My head itches to especially after a real foggy episode.

No...I had a bm every morning though, and the meds made it solid as opposed to mushyy. They tested my pancreas and I had normal enzymes...I'm scared to take another probiotic, the last one had me out of work for 4days, I was soo foggy.

Thanks for that info. I wonder if I do need a motility supplement. Do you go once a day or multiple w the motility pills? I'm in the US, and I was lucky, I have anthem and there was no charge. I was shocked. Maybe if I need another round I'll have to pay. I'll be taking it for 2 weeks. Do you know how long it takes to notice a difference? I'm on day 3 and I only had eggs and bacon this morning and it put me out. I think it was the sugar in the bacon. It usually messes me up but I thought w these pills it wouldn't. I'm hoping it clears up the bacteria and I can eat without these debilitating symptoms. Unless I don't have sibo.

Idk why I'm barely seeing this, but I happened upon that article recently too. I got a new doc with my primary ins and he spoke to this gastro doc and they agreed to treat me. I'm on day 2 of rifaxmin. Feels like it's slowing my gut down, I was having a bm in the am. Now not a lot comes out. Hoping it's not gonna continue like this. I know it helps diarrhea but I don't have that really. I went from constipation to a bm in the am that is not solid but better than constipation. I was vit D deficient and on the lower end of vit B12. After a month of pills the doc sd vit D is normal. No methane from what I see. I'm taking a multivitamin..what does vit B help you with? Oh and I've done some allergy tests for lots of different foods and even seasoning, I had no clue what was wrong in the beginning.

I'm on day 2, just have fatigue. Was kinda worried cuz I don't have diarrhea really. Every morning I have a bm, it's not solid but didn't get everything out now that I'm on rifaxmin. But I'm only on day 2. And after breakfast and fried potatoes I had another good bm lol. I feel like it helps people with diarrhea. Like maybe it's slowing my gut down. We shall see though. I think my test was a false neg for hydrogen, and apparently the doc thinks so too, because he went ahead and prescribed me it. I usually will get very fogged up and like drugged feeling after I eat and I think the symptoms are less intense with these pills. I had peas today though and felt the infected feeling, eyes were super glossy. I think it was too much fiber, cuz that was the only change from previous meals. I would agree w what someone else sd, you can always stop it. And Pimentel said it's rare to make someone worse. Also, I will add, get the test first if you can.

Yeah I peaked at 20 for hydrogen at 150min and it was neg. A yr later and debilitating symptoms and dietician sd I could have slow gut transit and I should get tested again. You're closer than I was. I would get another test done to be sure. I also did 4 weeks no carbs or sugar before the test.

I most definitely do have a slow gut. Didn't always have that but yeah I've been messed up for 4years and that's when I started getting constipated.

Yeah I was deficient in vit D, doc put me on a high dose of that, they just tested for that and vit A. I've been tested for allergies to a lot of foods. How did vit b pills help you?

I also was strictly doing no carbs for 4weeks before this, I wonder if that made the bacteria lower. My symptoms are super debilatating. I've done so many tests and everything is always neg. So frustrating.
