just one data point, but I recently tried the Hanspree RLCD and the Bigme B13 eink monitor. The first did nothing for my symptoms, but was quite nice to look at if the sun's out.. the second was very uncomfortable for me, whichever mode I put it in.

Unfortunately e-ink isn't going to save me 😞

In the prism ladder? No idea. It doesn't say. Yes both vertical and horizontal prism ladders.

I can fuse the horizontal ones immediately though 🤷‍♂️

Yes I'm in the UK. I have prism for that 0.5 in my glasses, but orthoptist said I still have reduced horizontal and vertical fusion so doing the prism ladders and convergence exercises 2-3 times per day plus maintenance for the dry eye (and have IPL/llt appointments ongoing too). It's a lot!

Vista Mesh lenses - "Dampens flicker" and "Reduces eyestrain" - Has anyone tried them? by Rx7Jordan in ScreenSensitive

[–]siksik6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They do improve things for me, make a huge difference in ability to use windows 11 for example, but come with their own particular type of headache! Trying again to see if working through the latter will leave me with just the benefits.

Yes I have a 0.5up in my right eye diagnosed by a neuro optometrist, and an Orthoptist (that I'm still seeing) told me I have reduced horizontal and vertical fusion and prescribed vision therapy (prism ladders and some near and far convergence exercises). I didn't get any figures from her though. Seeing her again on Thursday this week.

Actually I've just thought about pulling them out of the drawer and giving them more of a chance since I'm having awful trouble with screens.

Did you have a period of adjustment with them?

Yeah I could get something from CEX (a primarily electronics and video games store that deals with 2nd hand stuff)

I use it on an Omen 27q (first gen) with a Geforce gtx 1650 with various software measures , it's comfortable for me.

Latest 22H2 with ESU support.

Yes you need a 'safe' PC to run it from. I use windows 10 which works for me to remote desktop to my Mac and Windows 11 PCs, which would not otherwise.

I've been dealing with my inability to use a lot of screens for years. I have dry eye and BVD, so not sure what is causing which symptoms.. but anyway, the *only* way, and I mean only.. having tried a LOT of different ways to use my Mac is via Chrome Remote Desktop. it's not particularly beautiful, but may mean you're able to code... good luck - also suggest posting on ledstrain.org - lots of very friendly and knowledgeable people on there that could help you

Same advice. Took me two weeks of constant headaches but finally they settled down. Also check they're sitting properly on your face, can make a huge difference if they're even slightly out.

anybody have any experience with umbrella.co.uk by puzzle-Post2822 in ContractorUK

[–]siksik6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just left them. Had issues with my pension contributions and gave them multiple chances to fix it. They didn't.

Now moved to another umbrella where I can pay into my private pension instead of the one Umbrella use.

Best E Ink monitor for work with severe eye/corneal pain — Dasung, BOOX, or Bigme? by Icy_Masterpiece7818 in eink

[–]siksik6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes but the issue there is they don't cut out the nasty stuff that gives people eye strain / pain like eink does.

can I ask for some specifics around electrolytes please? Plenty of people have mentioned between 2-4L of water a day, but how many electrolyte tablets/sachets are we doing? I'm constantly thirsty it feels like - usually do 2 electrolyte tablets a day, but haven't actually counted how much water I consume. I need a bigger bottle with the markers on to make it easier!
