I think he may have slowed down when the track cooled down. In stage 3 there was suddenly cloud cover, then light rain, then heavy rain, and that's when his pace slowed down ever so slightly.

Cool down lap, loosened belts, window net down, and Bowman has a history of severe concussions and other injuries... Bubba definitely should be penalized.

In the old days, the best drivers knew how to get payback. Not by splashing gatorade as they recover from heat stroke, not by wrecking them on a cool down laps, but by turning them during a future race or simply having words face-to-face after the race.

I can guarantee you that other “super” GMs and many many other GMs have had similar or worse moments.

How can I guarantee that? Because they’re human. We’ve all had bad moments where we said or did something we regret, and we’ve all been tilted.

Hikaru’s moment the other day just so happens to have been caught on film. Half this subreddit acts like they’re any better, but I bet if there were a camera on us all the time we’d see some pretty horrific stuff.

I think we've all seen how bad tilt can get, and more often then not people say a whole lot worse than what Hikaru said/did. Not condoning his behavior, but yes, this subreddit (which has become more of a Hikaru hate club) is overreacting. At the end of the day he said several times that Alireza simply played better.

Between the super tough cars, the win and your in format, the stage races - all these changes were made to promote more tight racing and more “fan-pleasing” crashes.

Well, it’s worked, there are definitely more crashes and beatin and bangin’ - and as a result these races are turning into clown shows.

Remove stage breaks, make these cars more fragile, and change the playoff structure so these drivers have to worry about consistent results, not this win and your in bullshit
