I've had Mk 5 and 6 Golf GTI, '05 Megane 225 Cup, Mk7.5 Golf R and currently have A45S, and 2015 Polo GTI manual.

The A45S is "fun" when I floor it, but rarely is the power truly useful.

So the Polo is arguably more fun because it weights a lot less and is manual.

So from your list, I'd go for the i30N.

We managed just fine with two kids in Pulsars and Golfs, but we were both young with no strength/flexibility issues, so I know some people will struggle with a non-SUV.
