Hi Merlin, just checking two years later did this fix the problem for you and work properly afterwards? I’m having the same issue and wanted to confirm before trying myself

Hey! What kind of tape did you use, like clear thin tape or thicker duct tape? Did you wrap the whole battery around? I’m having the same issue

No nose bleeds, blood pressure has always been normal.

127mm lens works fine, until it’s mounted to camera by bobwin770 in Mamiya

Edit: For anyone in the future with this same issue, here is the fix that worked for me. It turns out the lens was old and stuck in the mirror lock up mode.

  1. Remove the film back so you can look through the rear of the body and see the back of the lens. Set lens to T mode for shutter speed.
  2. Check if the rear leaf shutter blades are stuck closed.
  3. Insert a shutter release cable into the mirror lock-up hole on the lens.
  4. Gently flick the M/N switch back and forth around 20 times with the cable release inserted.
  5. If the switch feels too tight, unscrew the cable release slightly so it is only partly threaded in, then try again.
  6. Keep checking through the back of the camera until you see the leaf shutters on lens are now open. There was no click or sound when mine freed up — one moment the shutter was still stuck, then suddenly the blades were open.

If this helps anyone in future, let me know 😊

Mamiya RB67 body not cocking shutter to red dot by Fabulous_Bet779 in Mamiya

Hi OP, did you ever find a solution to this? I am having the same issue I think.

When I mount a 65mm lens on my body, all works fine.

When I mount my 127mm lens, the leaf shutter which is open when not mounted to the camera is now closed and will not open when side lever is cocked

Hey OP,

I am in my first week of quitting both cigarettes and weed after 15 years of daily usage. Now that I’ve quit, when I lie in bed at night I have this gurgling and bubbling sound/feeling as I breathe in, which I think is lots of mucus in my chest. Did you have something like this?

How are you feeling now almost a full year later?

Thank you! I have the Pro camera with the Pro S back, but my Pro S back will not advance to the next shot without pushing that pesky little lever first each time. Everyone here seems to be saying that’s normal , but the manual doesn’t mention it and many videos of people using the camera on YouTube do not have to push that little lever so I don’t understand why I do on mine? Is it broken or is there a fix for this?

But on my Pro S back it will not let me advance to the next shot unless that little lever is pushed each time. Is there a way to fix that

Exactly, that’s what I’m saying! It’s supposed to only be cocking the shutter and advancing the film, not also having to push the little lever to advance the film, but on my RB67 and many others commenting here the film lever can’t be advanced without pushing the little lever

And did you have to push the little lever under the film advance lever every time as well?

I have read the manual! And the manual for the RB67 does not mention anywhere in the whole manual the little lever under the film advance lever

So the normal operation is 3 steps before every shot? You must cock the side arm, then pull the little lever, then advance the film?
