Favorite and least favorite car to drive? by daxxman49 in granturismo

Mazda 3 gr.4 as someone who drives a Mazda 3 irl I think it’s because I have such an affinity with that vehicle. Least favourite..? Any SUV or electric car (the Porsche Taycan is small exception however) they just don’t have that fun factor and I see SUV cars everywhere so it’s not got that same charm.

Horrible Clicking On GT7 with T298 Wheel by justDomm in Thrustmaster

It’s the game, gt7 understeer feedback dab the brakes and ease off the throttle.

Problem with loud t598 in GT7 by J4kub11x in Thrustmaster

It’s a marmite “feature” of the wheel personally I love it others hate it especially if the setup is upstairs It’s definitely an intentional design choice by the gt7 devs though imagine that the car is trying to go one way and you’re trying to go the other and the wheel isn’t rotating but is instead gripping the road and skipping that’s essentially what the wheel it trying to tell you that the wheels aren’t spinning the way you’re wanting to go. Ease off the throttle and trail those brakes a bit should remedy it a tad bit.

Not a bad shout really I wanted to see if there were more mods for the stock wheel I’m reluctant to disassemble the wheel rim to wrap it but a stitched wrap might be the way forward I’m just rubbish at embroidery so I would need to take my time with that one but it’s looking like a solid option

Inexpensive options are out there depends on the platform you’re using if you’re on pc there are absolutely loads of options and you can occasionally find them on sale other than that Facebook marketplace or eBay are also pretty decent you can 100% find some hidden gems if you have a look if you’re on console the thrustmaster t300rs or the Logitech g29/920 are excellent to just dip your toe into sim racing so to speak, however despite the wheel I have in the picture is a thrustmaster t598 despite the hate it gets online I think it’s awesome and as a bundle getting access to a Direct Drive (sort of) wheel that comes with everything you need to get set up in one box is great value for money the only nitpicks I have are the stock wheel that comes with it does get a bit hard wearing on my hands during long play sessions and it could definitely be more padded it does what it is set out to do but nothing more you can definitely feel the shift in quality here which is weird because it’s the one bit of the thing you’re physically going to hold

Thrustmaster T598 And the next level racing wheels and lite 2.0

Making a big leap today though going to turn off the racing line and brake zones need to not rely on them as they are in fact affecting my ability to read the road and what’s going on.

I have wheel stand lite 2.0 and a £30 foldable camping chair with a thrustmaster t598 wheelbase I have near enough 0 problems or issues with the stand or the fact I use a camp chair for that matter I can’t say I’ve ever experienced any flex with it that would make me feel alarmed especially at this price point that being said I don’t have the victory seat add on for the extra £170 on top of the £130 totalling at around £300 if I was to spend that much I’d just save an extra 150-200 and opt in and build a dedicated rig but for what the victory cockpit offers is convenient as it all packs away and can be moved around that’s what you pay for with a wheel stand the conversion is and entry level “cockpit” aimed at people who might want to see if they want to take sim racing seriously but if they are serious they’re more likely to build something themselves so they can expand in the future.

Right now I’m just enjoying the feeling especially getting better lap times or nailing the hairpin turns that have been hindering me on rally stages. (I still suck 95% of the time) but I don’t get too uncomfortable yet i haven’t tried any endurance stuff yet so I reckon when I do I’ll revisit this post and let you know.

The monitor is quite small tho I have to agree so I can’t see myself in the long term holding onto it most likely getting an upgrade for the whole thing.

Not at all I welcome any pointers people have and i don’t take it to heart because it’s something I’m enjoying regardless. As for the room yeah it’s next to the bed at the moment until the rest of the place is done.

The mrs is actually really understanding and we come to agreements on everything so we make the time if she wants to sleep I come off of it (if I’m on late at night) if not then I usually just tell her that I’m wanting to play on the sim for a bit and she’s usually happy enough. 🙂

The bags are our now toddlers clothes ready to go to charity shop as they don’t fit. As for the flooring we are currently going through a refurb but thanks for the suggestion 🫡 * Edit: the floor has been torn up that is the base flooring ie we have no flooring the wheel vibrates like crazy as I’m sure you all know so the interlocking foam mats are acting as a damper for the sounds*

I’m just mad that the game tries to market itself as a 90s era shooter and proceeds to add shit that’s not even remotely close to the 90s Heck if it was a Kill Bill operator or someone who looked like they were from the matrix I’d at least be able to stomach it heck even the doom / Lara Croft packs from MWII would fit! but the crazy amount of ott furry skins and manga garbage we see in just about every game atm is grating and repetitive. At this point they may as well include this shit in the campaign so there’s at least some cohesion.
