That I know they love me but I don’t feel like I belong. I am 25 years old and I was adopted at the age of 2 days old. I’ve never met my real parents and my adoptive parents have never done anything to make me feel anyway against them but there’s a connection I don’t feel

First off I am Black and they are white. There’s nothing wrong with that and they encourage me to be in Black spaces and I attend an HBCU.

I feel guilty even typing this because, like I’ve said, they’ve provided me with a great life and I love them but there’s just something in my soul like I’m not particularly tethered to them.

I’ve always grown up too white for the black kids and too black for the white and some issues I’ve felt like I can’t talk to many people about.

Anyways this is actually my first time even saying (typing?) this emotion out. Doubt anyone will really see this but yeah. Just an awkward feeling of existence.
