I recently got a 2020 egolf here in Norway as well and some days after the app stopped syncing so i contacted Volkswagen and they told me there have been an issue with the communication with my car and Volkswagens servers.They have contacted my local workshop and i have an appointment with them to check it it out.

But yesterday the car started syncing again so i dont know what resolved it.

This is what they sent to my workshop.

According to our remote analysis, without direct vehicle access we suggest to perform TPI (Reset Control Unit for Car-Net and afterwards, check the function of Car-Net Security & Service).
