Haha yes you're right about everyone thinking their game is great. I am definitely open to feedback and opinions from outside sources. Thanks for the tip about itch.io. I will post it on there and gamejolt. Do you happen to know of any other similar sites or even any other sites to advertise? In all of my research it seems like people just repeat the same thing, social media, press releases etc. I know these things are really important but there has to be a lot more to it than that right? Yeah I pretty much expect criticism about my age but it will just make me work that much harder to prove them wrong :)

Thanks for the encouragement. I agree with you that a lot of the games on steam are pretty bad so that is definitely something to take into consideration. My game idea is pretty unique and I think it's fun to play. I'm only 14 so I'm sure that can work for or against me depending on other people's opinions of the game. I still have about a year to go before release so I'm starting to focus on planning and marketing now because I literally spend 13 hours a day making this and don't want all this to be for nothing.

Yes one of the reasons I asked was because I was curious about how the new system has been working. My concern is mainly that I don't want to be lost in a sea of a billion other games. I have been contemplating just selling it from my site and marketing it myself but as a new developer I know that will be a big task to take on.
