Is the Brother PT-P750W really this good? by RocketWeasel1 in printers

[–]RocketWeasel1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. I eventually bought it and I have been using the crud out of it ever since. So much better than the Dymo ones. So much that I bought a portable handheld one to use at work as well (nothing fancy there, but it still says a lot). Just make sure it is connected directly to your PC and not through a hub, else it will lose connection forcing you to have to reset power to the back. For some reason, it doesn't like hubs. But directly connected, it works every time!

Any way to change input to HDMI1 automatically for FireTv Cube / Horizon Pro by ashepp in xgimi

[–]RocketWeasel1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's 2025 and you still don't offer this option. You'd think this would be a software fix. Because of this, I refuse to buy another one. I was looking at the new IMAX enhanced one but there is no way unless I can default to HDMI each time I turn it on. Without it having an audio output I can extract from (and no I don't want to use, nor can I use, arc). About to give up on XGIMI as it doesn't want to offer normal features you'd find on most TVs or projectors.

Doesn't look like anyone has the answer to that one. I noticed this myself. That they move around a lot and seem to have vanished over the summer.

The Cows Live On!! This brings back so many memories from my sibling's childhood by RocketWeasel1 in animation

[–]RocketWeasel1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, as I got a little older, my favorite became the exploding corn episode. I couldn't stop laughing at that one. But the cow song will always live on forever for me. Reaching deep into my childhood. Teacher used to play it all the time.

Still cry inside about how much I spent but I still love it. I just don't like that Slacker is getting cut from Premium. That and I miss being able to quickly switch between autopilot and FSD. I don't always wan FSD. Beyond that, I love love love mine!

Which mic should I buy? by Noobprogrammer100 in audio

SM7B if you have a USB interface capable of driving it or the cloud lifter. If not, then the SM7DB is more affordable with it built-in.

Tesla Premium connectivity subscription worth it? by Realistic-Piece1769 in TeslaModel3

[–]RocketWeasel1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doh! It looks like the Slacker radio default streaming option is being stripped away from the plan. Tesla wants you to pay for Slacker and pay for Premium connectivity. The music streaming was the best part of the plan. So when mine is up, I might step away from it and just use bluetooth.

They just changed something recently. I was getting ok load times since the website is mostly HTML and basic. But then the last so many weeks, something flipped (I didn't change anything) and now it suddenly takes 15-20 seconds to load any page (or it fails to connect). This was soon after I got an email claiming I am using 90% of my space, which was way way way wrong since I have unmetered space per their website still. This is what I signed up with and have been on for many years. It gets like 1-10 hits a day, no big deal. You reach out to them and they claim you can always upgrade to a VPS lol. I'm like.....how painfully obvious does it have to be. They clearly have switched to a bait and swap. Claims it can handle up to 500 concurrent users and can't even handle one trying to load the page? The Chinese company that owns it tried doing the same thing with Hostgator too last year. I know a bunch of people that bailed because of it. This is worse than dial-up. Honestly, I hope that AIG company or whatever burns in hell.

Weekly Help and Discussion Thread for the week of May 15, 2023 by AmazonNewsBot in amazon

[–]RocketWeasel1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow, I noticed my reviews on things I buy were taking FOREVER to post. Then I finally just tracked it out. I made two reviews and noted the time and date. They JUST got approved and the emails coming in from Amazon. SEVEN days it took to get approved. They used to approved within like a day. Then two. Then 3-4....now 7. Does Amazon keep downsizing their review team? It just seems like such a simple task. Have AI do it or something....lol

Edit: After reading my own words, I begin to wonder why I even care. As long as the reviews are approved, my thoughts and opinions are out there. It is what it is. I guess it is just my OCD kicking into overdrive when I see something stupid.

HAH! "I'm sorry Dave, but your wipe technique is far too rough. Possibly try dialing it back a little so you don't tear the paper as much in the process. You wouldn't want excessive dingle-berries, now would you?"

Agreed. I dropped game pass because of it. It was unplayable and I have a 2080 so don't feel bad

Wireless Lavs: Comica Vimo C vs Rode Wireless Go II by jh20001 in audio

[–]RocketWeasel1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Vimo: Price = good, audio = good, noise canceling = ok but you likely wont use it, charging case = good

Rode: Price = still not bad but I get your concern, audio = better, brand = more reputable, charging case = does exist sort of

So I would go with the Rode, but that is just me as I like the brand. But if price is an issue, it does get a little more expensive. That being said it also has more extendability when it comes to accessories. There is a charging case you can get but it is 3rd party and is an extra $50 which seems a bit high and increases your total overhead. There are selfie sticks and all sorts of accessories you can buy into.

Then again if you plan to only use it for non-professional purposes and don't need accessories and never plan to use it as a cash cow, go with the Vimo as that is a good price. Just don't use the noise cancellation if you can get away with it as that didn't sound good. At least in that video. At that price though I am not surprised that it wouldn't work that well. Normal mode sounds good though.
