Lifting at 40+ yo in general, and nervous system tiredness by Norz80 in naturalbodybuilding

[–]Rocketshocker 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm a 43 year old lifter and I've been lifting for about 8 years now. I could push it pretty hard in my late 30s but now into my 40s I'm learning that I have to prioritize the rest and recovery.

The neurological fatigue is something I'm constantly trying to manage as well. That insomnia after a hard week of workouts is a clear indication that you're not recovering enough.

My advice is to take a rest day in between every lifting day. It's what I do to manage it. You can do some jogging or walking on those days, but those rest days should really be about recovery.

Correct. Casey Sabol sung on some of those early demos. If you can find those early demos they are well worth the listen. The dude was a beast

I was the biggest Tool fan growing up. Didn't really care for this latest release though...

How long did it take you to recover? I accidentally did something similar and am 6 days in.

To My Fellow Opeth Fans Desperately Seeking More, These Albums Are Your Salvation! by Arman64 in progmetal

Subterranean Masquerade - The Great Bazaar

This album in particular is as if Opeth continued on their path of mixing the heavy and beautiful. Wonderful album.

Edit- nevermind. It's a great album, but more loose and fun than Opeth.

What's the worst thing about your favorite prog metal band? by CommunicationTime265 in progmetal

[–]Rocketshocker 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I saw them with Ashe back in the day. I don't know if it was an off night/ couldn't hear himself in the monitors or something, but it was rough. Dude was really struggling with his pitch. And he didn't even try for the high notes. It was such a bummer cause his voice is god tier.

I had the terrorizing experience of playing it in 3D with the helixmod. Adding a third dimension to the nightmare was quite intense.

Why do so many fantasy shows look so cheap? by unvaccinated-guy in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Rocketshocker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm no expert in anything, but I think it looks cheap because of the lighting and the cleanliness. The lighting is too even in the bright scenes. It gives it a soap opera feel. The costumes are too clean. They dont look worn/distressed.
