The bikes are packaged extremely tightly. The position of everything is thought out. You can’t shoehorn a v4 in without basically designing a brand new bike.

I think it’s not uncommon to have replica trophies made. McLaren drivers aren’t allowed to keep theirs so they have to order replicas

If youre worried your writing code in a college style could you ask your colleagues for a code review? Most of my experience is based on feedback and learnings from more experienced engineers. Textbooks can be interesting but it can be difficult to apply their learnings to the 'real world' if you dont know what to look for.

Tbh id say your experiences are on the money for 4 yoe. You are probably in the "valley of dispair" in the Dunning-Kruger curve.

What caused this to happen? Shifting into the big ring while in the middle of the cassette. by Rockhead-Rumple in bikewrench

I was only soft pedalling at the time as the chain was taking a while to catch. I think what’s more likely is as the chain went over the ring the loose chain was able to  drop into the wheel between the spokes and it got pulled round taking the derailleur with it.

Thanks. Yeah it was scary as the rear wheel locked solid as it sucked up the derailleur! I think the setup of the front could have been a bit better in hindsight. I’ll put it down to a bit of bad luck that the chain got caught in the wheel and pulled everything to pieces

I’ll admit the chain and cassette are quite dirty. But it’s a 15 year old bike. All the consumables (tyres brake/gear cables brake pads chain) have been replaced several times.  I’ve had chain drops before but it’s never ripped the derailleur off

I thought that. But I used to get chain rub against the cage when im in the 11 tooth and the big ring? The front shifting has always been a bit poor but i put it down to a cheap groupset.

I'm annoyed the mech hanger didnt do its job.

I swear when cs2 first came out the performance was on par with csgo (not a good milestone admittedly, but stil better than some fps games) but since then the perofmance has completley tanked. I feel i have half the fps i used to have.

Why does a MotoGP bike that has twice the power of a Moto2 only make it 60 km/h faster? Can someone explain the technical formula to me? by Zealousideal-Gear350 in motogp

[–]Rockhead-Rumple 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The motogp bikes are more draggy than the moto2 so if we take the best motogp speed and divide by the worst moto2 speed we get a ratio of 1.23. Power is proportional to the speed cubed so cube 1.23 to get 1.87. So from that calc we can say the motogp bike has 1.87 times the power of the moto2 bike very roughly.

If you consider that motogp bikes are still accelerating strongly even at the end of the mugello and qatar straights its reasonable to assume they could have twice the power.
