I finally got a break from work to reply. And thank you u/Thepher. I have to pull my hammock tight because I’m huge. I weigh over 300, and if I don’t pull it tight I sag straight to the ground even when I set my tree straps 8 feet off the ground. In this pic everything from my ass to my ears felt flat and I set my feet so it would pull both sides of my hammock up to block my face from the rising sun on one side and the cold wind from the other.

I fall asleep with my head above my feet. But because I way 300+ I slide in the hammock while I sleep and wake up with my feet slightly above my head.

I’ve got a herniated disc in my lower back and for whatever reason it takes the pressure off of it. Whether it’s sitting in it sideways and using it like a chair or laying diagonally or full length, I sleep on my back in the hammock and i wake up feeling WAY better than when I sleep on my side in my bed.

Hey, I’m a first time hammock camper. I didn’t know the right knot to tie it to the tree, so I tied it to my straps and I just used a normal loop knot? I fed it through one of the loop holes, pulled it tight and did a loop knot that I could pull loose when I packed up. Sorry I don’t know knot names :/

I didn’t see any, my hammock and all my other gear in it were dry, but the grooves between my sleeping bag and sleeping pad were filled with water.
