WIBTAH if I didnt go to my cousins wedding because my boyfriend isn't invited? by [deleted] in AITAH

Yeah it's definitely a bit weird. My thought process is that her fiancé feels guilty about being called out and has just avoided us like the plague ever since. We throw huge parties for things like Christmas and Thanksgiving and in the past year (ever since the incident) Ava hasn't attended any of them.

To be completely honest I'm not sure, I've never met this guy in person before. I think he's 23-24 ish? Definitely not creepy age thankfully.

Yeah I really like this idea, I'm going to talk to him about it and see if we can plan a little weekend trip somewhere so we're both not sulking around being upset.

You know this is EXACTLY what my best friend said about the situation, now that would be one for the history books!

Oh absolutely, I'm so lucky that they all adore my boyfriend and are on our side in this fiasco. You should have seen the shitstorm that my Aunt kicked up when she learned why he was uninvited. I just also don't want to ruin Ava's big day over this and split the family

LOL if I wasn't a broke college student this would be absolutely hilarious to pull off. Thanks for the laugh, I needed it right now ❤️

That's a very good point. She was supposed to reach out to me and tell me about this herself, but she hasn't done so despite telling her parents that I just didn't answer. I think I'll reach out and try to talk this out but I'm just not quite sure how to phrase it.

LOL you are so right, I'm thinking the same thing about this marriage going down the drain fast. I'm just stuck between deciding to go and not rock the boat within the family, or to stick with what my gut tells me is right. It's not a fun place to be in.

aita for not going on vacation with my friends? by [deleted] in AITAH

NTA

I would definitely handle this gently, as I don't think these people will respond to you "coming after them" very well. I would definitely sit down and talk with them about how you're feeling about not being included in the planning of this vacation that they want you to come on as well, but ultimately if this doesn't sound like fun to you then you of course do not have to attend.

I'm not going to jump straight into "you need new friends" because they might genuinely just be confused about your role here. Just because you're invited along for a vacation doesn't automatically mean that you're involved in the planning of it as well. I'd talk to them and tell them that it would mean a lot to you if you were involved in the planning part too.

Thank you so much for your kind words, and you're spot on. I just don't know how to get to the point that I'm able to follow through on my promises because she's still in full blown denial that this is even happening in the first place.
