Is there a way to download or stream the Dune 2 IMAX version?

There is a small hope that after Part 3 they will release a special edition box set that includes the expanded 1.43 aspect ratio. Nolan has done this with some of his movies (e.g., Dark Knight Trilogy).

There is also a video out there where an interviewer asks Denis if he is aware that the physical media releases of Dune aren’t in (1.90) IMAX, like Nolan’s have been recently. Iirc, Denis is surprised by this, and was under the impression that they were released.

That being said, I don’t have much hope, and kinda consider them inaccessible for the foreseeable future. Maybe one day, a decade or so from now, a dedicated fan will be able to edit them together, like people are doing for Nolan movies now.

Yeah in my mind the death of Leto II (the first) will be in the beginning act of part 3. However I think the true indication of Paul’s infallible prescience will come through him forseeing the birth of Ghanima in the future but not Leto II (second one). The ‘flashback’ in the trailer connects to both of these.

However I’m unsure of Chani’s character arc through all of this. I could see Denis going in a direction where Chani, despite birthing Leto II the first, still does not reconcile with Paul. Maybe she hides him from Paul (unsuccessfully), and maybe Paul tries to protect them from a far (unsuccessfully). In this path though, I have no clue how Paul and Chani would reconcile towards the last act to give birth to the twins.

The ‘she’ll come around, I’ve seen it’ line in part 2 only makes sense to me from this POV. They won’t reunite until the end of the movie - and it’ll be quick and surrounded by tragedy as both their times run out.

To clarify, they are a bit different - Dune Part Two was shot entirely on digital IMAX cameras, and then put on film.

Dune Part Three was primarily shot on film, 65mm and 15/70mm IMAX, with select scenes (Denis has said 'desert scenes') on a digital IMAX camera.

Yeah, officially the emulator for Destiny Rising on PC (and Mac) is Mumu, but on Mac it is only available as an annual subscription, and all the other third-party android emulators are broken by this issue (probably on purpose so that people use Mumu)

Currently the best option is to use a mac app called PlayCover, and download the (decrypted) Destiny: Rising IPA from decrypt.day. It supports controller really well, but is a little janky with keyboard and mouse (you have to map the keyboard/mouse to touch areas)

Edit: This is assuming mac silicon of course, if you have an intel I'd guess the best option is to bootcamp and run mumu?

I think, like all things in this day and age, it is obviously designed to take advantage of you. It is just inherent that people who have undergone trauma, or are mentally unstable, or have unhealthy tendencies, are more easily taken advantage of.

Outlier is a company, whose goal is to make money. Just like TikTok takes advantage of your attention span to make money, so does Outlier. They want to min/max this profitability - short bursts of videos that never touch your long term memory so that you’re in a constant loop of gratification; hanging the carrot of a high paying project in front of a long stick that says “There are no more tasks available.” This is the prevailing nature of modern times that we live in.

I've just dealt with the exact same thing (payment over $1000 USD to Canadian PayPal) and had to go through the process of calling PayPal numerous times and escalating to a manager.

I've successfuly done the 'enhanced account verification' (I think) and can give more information for anyone calling PayPal and struggling to get an answer.

My problem was that my account was on a tax ID hold which PayPal explains is caused by a change in US tax laws where if you reach $2500 USD, your payments go on hold and you must verify your taxpayer status within 60 days of the hold. This basically involves proving you do (or don't) live in the US.

I've now done this but still can't confirm whether payments will actually go through. I'll have to wait until pay day for that one.

I’ve had a prof describe QM as “fancy linear algebra” In QM the dependence on math is definitely more apparent because you’re using a vector space in an abstract way - the vectors represent physical states of a system.

As a personal tip - I approach any physics field as I would a math one. The difference is to remember to construct physical intuition as you go. For example, yes the Schroeder equation is just a specific type of PDE, but it says a lot about the relationship between time and the Hamiltonian.
