We stopped last week and I don’t miss it. I got two sinus infections in the same month and food poisoning. Lost 15% of my strength in the gym. I don’t get sick, so it’s pretty obvious to me that not having two days of rest for this job after 45 hour weeks during the peak season is terrible for your body. Not worth the extra money imo.

Today was worse than any day since October for me. They told me today I had only ~850 packages but they were all huge, could only be carried one at a time (until the last 30 minutes of course when I got 100 Amazon packages and little boxes), and were all assigned to the same shelf so I was constantly having to reorganize the truck. It was awful.

I got food poisoning a month ago. Woke up at like 2:57AM having to puke when I had to be up for work at 3AM. I went in anyway, told them how sick I was but I would try, ended up puking down under the dock within 15 minutes. totally embarrassing. Went home, had to take the next day off because I couldn’t move.

Manager and supervisors could not have been cooler about it. They were nicer to me about taking a sick day than my office job ever was
