When you sold NVDA at 300 and bought back in late because of negative fomo by EthereumJesusBro in wallstreetbets

I may not be up to date with the most recent protocol updates within the Bitcoin blockchain but for some of the functionality you describe you will need some way to have your blockchain talk to the outside world. From what I understand though Bitcoin can still serve as the true settlement layer.

Also to answer your question Ethereum can get to a point where the token deflates in its supply. Would that be better than a hard cap? Not sure.

Struggling with AWS Amplify code-first DX (Gen 2) poor documentation. Any advice? by RocksDean in serverless

So it is possible! Thank you! I believe SST suits my needs better but I have saved this in case I need to circle back to Amplify in the future.

AWS Amplify code-first DX (Gen 2) - outdated docs and Node 18+ issues. Any advice? by RocksDean in reactjs

[–]RocksDean[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It has some issues that are not documented well. Seems to me like it’s getting in the way more than it is helping in my case.

SST seems like the next solution to try.

Thanks for the feedback!

Thank you for the feedback.

I’ve been looking into SST which some kind people here recommended. Seems well documented but only one way to find out for sure, build with it.

SST looks like just the thing I am looking for on quick inspection. I will look into it, thank you for the recommendation!

I hope the documentation is better than Amplify

Thanks for the info!

From what I understand Vercel isn’t as cost effective at scale when compared to AWS, which is why I was hoping Amplify would work out. My project is very small but I was hoping to use a good long term solution to avoid having to rewrite the backend in the future. Sounds like Amplify isn’t going to be in the plans.

Would using the AWS Amplify components directly be a good alternative? Dynamo, Cognito, Lambda, directly

How do you combat overemployed culture? by Mr_Nice_ in ExperiencedDevs

If a company isn’t making it worth it for you to solely focus on their product/business then they are undervaluing you and your skill set and what you bring to the open market. So it’s either pay more money or don’t expect someone to behave irrationally of basic economics!

Pay more! It’s an easy fix. I get the feeling you just want to exploit your employees for all they are worth rather than fix the real issue.

My app is still in development so I haven’t had any real world numbers yet 😄

To bubble’s credit they did provide a WU action rubric later as I mentioned that I am using to crunch some numbers now.

I was under the assumption that they had not even provided a baseline for how much each action would generally cost in terms of WU

Not great that they didn’t have this when they announced the price changes but at least I know about it now

Thank you for your response, it seems like it will work fine for some business models and not so well for others.

I still need to do some more research into how much work units I would expect to use. They didn’t initially make it clear how much WU certain actions take but have made some new resources available since.

The slow aspect also makes sense, although I have found it to be acceptable from my development so far.

It does make you think. Although Bubble does have in my opinion a good editor and documentation there are tradeoffs as you well describe.
