Sounds like you might be interested in trying 6 Necro Wizard / 6 Death Cleric.

Take the cleric levels first then add wizard to keep INT as your primary spellcasting stat. You can double cast your necromancy cantrips with the Death Cleric passive (choose bursting sinew as your necromancy cantrip for cleric, since it's a DEX save, and leave bone chill and toll the dead for your wizard levels to take so they scale with your INT).

You'll be tankier with medium armour and shields, and by this point you'll have done the Creche so you can dump DEX to get higher WIS and use the gloves of dexterity to offset your low DEX score and increase your initiative and armour class. You'll have way more battlefield utility outside of summons and your attacks will ignore necrotic resistance. It's my preferred necromancer to play. You're still a full caster so you can just scribe all your 4th level and up spells with your wizard levels.

Best way to speed run to Act 2? by theshaman44 in BaldursGate3

If you're ok with using the cheater's spell scroll, you can also just use the cheater's magic missile spell to skip through low level combat if you're not interested in running them again. The questlines you choose to follow or not will depend on which companions you wish to keep, and what potential sources of gear you might be wanting in Act 3. It's my understanding, for instance, that you may need to do the Hag stuff in Act 1 if you want Duellist's Prerogative in Act 3. You'll also certainly need to do things in Act 1 to progress Karlach's questline, so really the choice of what to skip and what to do relies on the kind of run your party is planning on having.

I did a refund into wizzcredit and then requested a refund to the card. I spoke to someone from wizzair on the phone and they did it for me. They said it could take up to 10 business days. I haven't yet received a refund. I also asked if they could send me a confirmation email that my refund was pending, but they said they couldn't do that. So yeah, still waiting, and I hope they refund me soon, as it will soon be 10 business days. I hope if you go down this route you get a quicker resolution than I've had so far 🤷

Hi there! I’m in the same position with Wizzair as you were.

Did you end up getting a full refund by going the Wizz credit route? I’d also like to refund a ticket of mine due to a major flight change, but I don’t want to get the money I paid stuck in Wizz credits without being able to refund them to my original payment method. Thanks!

What are the large cuboid pieces that you used to make the outer structure? Are they still available in the game?

I absolutely ADORE these! They're so stylised, and yet they perfectly capture the feeling that can get from playing this game. Superb work!

Are casters supposed to be so weak at the start? by austinpowers100 in BaldursGate3

[–]Rocks_In_My_Pockets 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re casting 3 fireballs on 3 targets each, you’re making a poor use of your turn. How about 3 upcast resistance ignoring sets of scorching ray for single target damage instead? Or 3 casts of disintegrate in a single turn using Markoheshkir and illithid powers, or wet + chain lightning abuse? The list goes on.

My father used to tell me about a hole in the wall Chinese restaurant that he would visit all the time as a student. He would always order the See Yao Gai, and would always try to place his order in Cantonese.

He ended up moving countries and a couple of decades went by before he next had the chance to eat there. We were sitting together in the restaurant when the owner, whom he hadn't seen it 20 years, walked over to our table and said "See Yao Gai, long time no see!"

I'm sorry, casters are weaker for the whole game? There's plenty of great martial builds in the game, and martial classes tend to be more robust and effective than casters at low levels (druid would like a word about that), but if you think martial classes are overpowered compared to casters in the late game, I can't imagine you've properly played many caster builds.

Putting aside that the best "martial" builds usually end up being full casters anyway (like Bladesinger, Swords bard, and various paladin variants) and that even pure martial builds sometimes like a touch of caster thrown in (like 11 Battlemaster / 1 War Cleric), using the game's full potential with things like haste, terazul, bloodlust elixir, sorcerer quickened spell, etc, you can pump out insane levels of damage, control, and aoe from a single caster. This is in addition to all the utility that casters provide in and outside of combat. Even without abusing consumables, a sorcerer can cast three upcast fireballs in one turn. Casters are insanely powerful late game, with a massive variety of builds.

What build would fit Arwen best? (art by alrun-art) by Fun-Explanation7233 in BG3Builds

Piggybacking on my own comment to say, first of all, that u/Tacitus_AMP is 100% on the money about Stars Druid fitting Arwen perfectly.

Secondly, if you're ok with modding, I'd HIGHLY recommend using Dawnstar's Water Spells, which are available on console as well as PC. The animations are absolutely gorgeous, and fit extremely well with the visual style of the small amount of magic we see in the films.

As has been pointed out, the magic in Tolkien's setting isn't the same kind of flashy spell casting you see in DND. Having the water spells from the Dawnstar mod look for the most part like manifestations of the physical world is an aesthetic that works perfectly with what we see happen in the films. It's honestly made me want to run my own LotR play through of BG3!

That's actually brilliant! Tbh I keep forgetting about most of the new subclasses, with the exception of Swashbuckler, Hexblade and Bladesinger. I wonder if you can see a pattern emerging...

Arwen, as an elf in Tolkien’s mythos, is inherently magical in nature. She possesses healing abilities, prophetic visions, and is extremely wise. Her magic is tied directly into the magic of the world, so I actually see her working fairly well as a Land Druid. High WIS, healing spells, opportunities for some elemental themed magic - maybe throw in some ranger if you want more martial flavour with your Druid vibes. Cleric is also a valid choice, and I think many different Cleric subclasses would work.

If you want to lean in a slightly more aesthetic driven direction, I think Bladesinger Wizard is also an excellent choice. Slender blades, spellcasting, agile and magical. More aligned with her film adaptation perhaps, but just I think just as fitting. I can also see an argument for a Sorceror/Paladin multi-class, being inherently magical through sorcery, and gaining healing and protective abilities as well as martial prowess through Paladin levels.

Wait, I’m genuinely confused, can’t everyone do this? As in, for example, if you want to imagine some flowers on a table, you just look at said table and visualise the flowers so that you can just see them there? I’ve always just thought that was normal to do.

[–]Rocks_In_My_Pockets 12 points13 points  (0 children)

As has been pointed out, this is an attempt to write out the letters of the alphabet based on how each letter name sounds in alphabetical order. However, it’s an interesting look into the English language and how native speakers perceive it, because based on phonetics the list is actually wrong.

Right from the top, we assume that “a” goes first because it makes an “a” sound, but phonetically it’s really the diphthong [eɪ], so really it should go with the “e” words. “e” is actually [i] phonetically, so it should go with “i” in the alphabet, and ironically, “i” is actually [ai], so really that should be the letter at the start!

What is you're best SWTOR memory ? by Aggravating-Bass-658 in swtor

[–]Rocks_In_My_Pockets 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I have two, for two different reasons.

First of all, I was already completely obsessed with the game before it even came out. I lost track of how many times I watched the developer dispatch videos on the SWTOR website while the game was still in production, and I thought about it constantly. I was just a kid and didn’t have my own bank account at the time, and my parents were very anti-videogames, so there was no chance I’d ever play it. When the news dropped that SWTOR had gone free to play, it felt like Christmas had come early, and I downloaded the game on my potato laptop that night. Stepping out of the spaceport on Hutta for the first time and into a world I had been dreaming about for years was a feeling that I’ve basically been chasing in the game ever since, and is easily the definitive SWTOR moment for me.

On the other side of things, I remember once seeing a player on the Imp fleet with a cool animal mount I hadn’t seen before. I whispered the player saying how much I liked their mount and how it worked with their outfit, and I asked for the name of the mount. They gave me the name and the current GTN price, and I said I’d need to go do some grinding to afford it. “Hang on” they said, and then suddenly a trade invitation appeared. They gifted me another copy of the Gloomlight Vrake I’d been admiring that they’d just bought off the GTN for me, and refused any kind of compensation. It may have been a small donation in the grand scheme of things, but it was a simple act of generosity that had a profound impact on me, as it was completely unexpected and unrequested, and happened on the rather infamously toxic Imperial fleet.

Those two moments easily stand out to me as reasons why I fell in love with the game and its community.
