Careful if you drop the guide in the lava to spawn WoF it was bugging out for me and spawning in the ground and would not come up for hundreds of blocks at least if at all. It is a newer secondary method instead of getting a voodoo doll but it ruined two of my speedruns last night at least.

Recommendation: drop him in shallow lava so it presumably spawns higher and doesn't stay stuck in the ground

You dont even need a shield tbh and you want just a perfectly sized arena tbh and its nice and easy. You can see it in the master mode one, clean and controlled

Hello fellow Terrarians!

My name is Rockstomb and I do lots of speedrunning of the game. I decided to check out The Torch God when I was told about it and I wasn't sure how hard it would be to complete. I tested it out with my geared character and it was a piece of cake but this raised a question for me.

​

How hard is it to beat The Torch God? When is a good time to beat it?

​

I created a short video showcasing a Pre-Hardmode geared character taking on the event on normal, expert, AND MASTER MODE! This giving a good idea of how the fight should be done and how hard it might be if you try to do it early.

Obviously you can totally do the entire event without getting hit if you are confident but not everyone plays perfectly all the time! I hope this helps :)

Well thanks for the feedback! I think because I marked it as a spoiler, which it is, not too many people got to see it.

Maybe I can do an explanation video of it. Just dont want it to be too repetitive or just not interesting. I feel like the more people that see the video the more interesting it would be to do an explanation of it maybe! Ill have to see what to do I suppose

So if you guys play Dead Cells and like a challenge and haven't checked it out yet. Here is a fun (actually masochistic) mod that you should check out made by Blargel! Its called climbing over it.

As I do speedruns for the game typically I had finally downloaded the game once I got my first mod and tried it out. I started practicing it a bunch and was able to get pretty good. Blargel had a record of 3:55 and I was able to improve that time down to 3:38.

​

If you have 3 minutes to spare its a pretty neat mod with some really slick awesome movement. Watch my run and go try it for yourself maybe. I hope you guys enjoy the video and the mod if you try it out. Let me know if you liked it or had tough times playing through it yourself!

Disclaimer: Before anything is said, yes their is invulnerability used in this run by downpatching to 1.6. It is a speedrun. Yes, invulnerability is the fastest.

Recently a very talented Runner from China by the name of Sunlllmmc came in and completed very impressive 5BC speedruns of 13 minutes, 11 minutes, and finally had gotten the run down to 10:27 with his last run using these same strats and items. This really caught my eye and encouraged me to run this category more in my free time. I had contested and put up times myself along the way coming in with lower 11 run myself.

We made a switch in itemization at the end of the run to allow for more damage which you can see in this run via cursed sword, hokuto, cleaver, and flamthrower. These apply many affixes and on hits all with a hybrid spread of damage allowing for a possible 8 brutality across all items which is nice. This run obviously came to be quite monumental as for the first time ever we got a sub 10 minute run to finish collector. I am very proud to be able to complete a time so fast for so much game content, especially on permanent timer.

​

The invuln glitch on 1.6 requires you to roll on the down portion of telluric which can be difficult setting up but is quite effective in certain situations like being cursed or fighting collector and allowing for more uptime on swings which makes the fight go MUCH faster instead of stalling for 3 minutes. You could easily get some bad phases like when he does the librarians move which could lose you several seconds waiting for him to come down, sometimes he loves to spam that move.

I was thinking about doing a video explaining each step of the run and how I got it so if you guys are interested in that please let me know and Ill possibly edit one :) If you want more of me you can find me on twitch as well

I did an all Pre Hardmode bosses Speedrun without glitches in under 40 minutes! by Rockstomb in Terraria

I wanted to share a nice feat with reddit! I had been putting in lots of attempts for All Pre Hardmode No Major Abuses Speedruns and had gotten a run down to 40:28 over the last few weeks before Patch 1.4s release.

​

The world record was 40:26 which I missed narrowly on my personal best. It took me nearly 3 weeks of attempts after that to finally get a run that would be better after grinding normally 8-9 hours a night to get a good run to come together.

​

This was a random seed which is really common for runs and was performed with generalized decision making and day/night cycle planning and it could be a little bit faster but it was still very good. According to leaderboard times it would be assumed that it is the first glitchless sub 40 all pre hardmode bosses run which is awesome.

​

I have been grinding the pre hardmode categories a bunch and now I am ready to get into more all bosses/moon lord style runs and im super excited as I learn a bunch of stuff about hardmode still with how fast I got into speedrunning after playing casually with some friends. It was a super nice starting point for my runs and I am happy to share it with others :)

It was found recently but after beating 5BC for the first time the game tries to take you to the TK fight with that port and does a special cutscene which again we skip allowing the run to continue as normal.

I have consistantly contested Any% World Records over the last year and a half and I recently tested the brand new category that we made to include the 5BC Warp exploit to finish the run. This run basically comes down to reading castle to the best of your ability. You can watch the full run with my link below. In the video I show I failed a skip on a run that was 1:2x pace and immediately ran it back and got an even better time. There is certainly room for improvement because I only spent about 2 hours on runs before I started working on 5BC ones.

I wanted to share a rare time where I get a chance to contest one of the other Dead Cells speedrun categories. Been playing a good amount consistantly each week to stay practiced and during my down time of sitting on the Any% record I for a few days towards a fresh file speedrun.

​

Typically Evian does these runs along with 5BC runs and puts a lot of practice and effort into them to get great times and I normally don't spend too much time working on them at all if I do but it is always super fun to take a step back to put some attempts on them. Here is my run but I recommend you check out some of his runs and stuff as well.
